Well, when I stopped at traffic lights today with my foot on the brake, me car would run really hard and then there was a surge of power and my car kinda lunged forward. It was strange. Like I had let up a little on the brake and stepped on the gas pedal, but I didn't. Maybe it's a battery thing, like low power and then a surge of power. Or maybe the timing's off. What do ya'll think?

Downshifting to what? I was already stopped. So wouldn't I already be in first gear? It did it more than 5 times at one light.Originally posted by redfbirdv6 View Posttranny downshifting? my DD does this too, but im pretty sure its just the tranny downshifting roughly

Could be a couple things.Originally posted by Zfenix View PostWell, when I stopped at traffic lights today with my foot on the brake, me car would run really hard and then there was a surge of power and my car kinda lunged forward. Did it only do it the one time? Or every time?
First guess would be a vacuum line (my new mantra for the week...lol...) or a TPS.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! My blue bird use to do that as well. Must be a problem with the v6's or something. No clue why it did it.

It did it about 2-5 times at each stop light, then it eventually stopped.Originally posted by 81DaytonaPaceCar View PostCould be a couple things.

TPS is good.
Vacuum line, hmmm? Well, what does that do?

The vac lines are all the smaller black rubber hoses running everywhere under the hood.Originally posted by Zfenix View PostIt did it about 2-5 times at each stop light, then it eventually stopped.

Likely culprit would be one that attaches to the intake manifold.
If it's not repeating itself, it could be something as minor as a cracked line, or even one of them that doesn't get a good seal/attachment...it could just be not sealing briefly when the engine vibrates and the computer is now trying to adjust for the additional air it thinks it's seeing.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH! Well, there was a clamp that broke. I can't tell you what hose it goes to, but it's at the top/front of the engine area. Kyle put a ziptie on it for the time, but maybe it's not as good as a clamp.

if its a vacc line i highly doubt it could be causing any problems if its hooked on and ziptied, general tendencys will be to suck in to keep the hose on anyway.. Def isnt the tranny either if it did it several times at one light, my dynasty just lurches forward and jerks sometimes one good time when coming to a stop, must be a lil slow downshifting or something lolOriginally posted by 81DaytonaPaceCar View PostCould be...would have to see it...

I had this hapen to me in another car I used to drive, What it turned out to be was the number 4 cylinder rings went bad and the plug kept fouling out and missfireing. And this caused my car to jump and lurch at a stop, and it would do more them 1 time every time I stopped then go away and come back. just my experence with this type of problem. good lucksigpic

The hose I put the zip tie on was from the intake tube to the valve cover so I doubt that it's that.
I'll check the TPS again, it's easy
