If thats the case I would say just get your heads fixed and get the car driven this summer. You should have no problem hitting over 300 WHP.

Hhhmm this sounds familiar! I think I said the same thing years ago...I will be happy running 12s at the track! Step up now buy the LE2s give yourself some room to grow. Car has been down this long what's the hurry? Putting almost $800 into some unknown who ported mystery heads or spending a couple hundred more and getting some proven heads. You will be happier in the long run with the LE2ssigpicJust a slow 400 plus RWHP LT1.....428/370 NA

The red T/A has Bilko's old engine intake to oil pan.
These heads were ported by Jason Short on all of the F-body forums. They went something like 93mph in the 1/8th on the car they were originally ported for, which equates to about 118-119mph in the 1/4. That was on a 383, I believe a t56, and from what I was told it was a heavy car on mostly stock suspension.
That said, I bought them off of the second owner and have no idea if he used them and what kind of performance he got out of them. I did have them flowed and Peter has the numbers. Wanna say around 250 intake @ .550 lift, it's been a while.
Are they magical heads? No. Are they comparable to buying a fresh set of heads from LE? Probably not. I bought them because at the time they were cheaper than other options and I was acquainted with Jason. I know he has fast stuff and does decent work. That said, I didn't buy them directly from him but did confirm the specs with him and that it was his work. I never had any problems with them when I ran them, but the car/engine was never meant to be anything particularly special at the time. Just a budget driver.

When i first helped him put his engine together the heads had been done by some other company. Thats not to say his setup didnt change at some point... I cant remember. Come to think of it i think he started with a big hydraulic grind vs the solid one.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; April 7th, 2015, 10:33 AM.-Joel

It was. Joel is asking because I bought Bilkos' engine back when he sold it. I ended up putting it in my old car to replace this engine that Peter now has. All of the parts from each engine stayed on each engine and Bilkos' engine lives on 100% as I received it from him in my old car with its new owner.Originally posted by FASHOOTER View PostPretty sure that car was all AI

Ok he must have changed the heads then. The heads he started out with were not AI.-Joel

Yeah, I have no idea who's port job ended up on the things, but I know they had been to AI at some point per Ryan when he sold it to me. It was my impression they ported the heads, but maybe they just refreshed them? Regardless, that engine is still going strong and it's not related to anything that I sold to Peter.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostWhen i first helped him put his engine together the heads had been done by some other company. Those heads were done by a shop called advanced airflow. They were cnc ported heads and kyle Dotson bought them from Ryan (kyleozzie) on here. . TThen Ryan got the ai200cc Solid roller deal for his last lt1.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostWhen i first helped him put his engine together the heads had been done by some other company. Those advanced airflow heads were good heads.
As to this thread I think you should take those heads Peter and ditch them. Some unknown port work done by someone is pissing in the wind unless you have some track numbers to back them up or dyno numbers.. just my opinion

FWIW, the guy who does heads at Livernois did say that the port job was "mild, but well done." He's familiar with LT1s and actually used to own an LT1 f-body.
The hurry is that the car has been down this long, and I was sick of working on it even before I had it back together the first time before finding out I had to start over. This project has all but sucked the joy out of cars for me, so I want to get it back on the road before that joy is completely gone. I would also like to actually park both of my cars in my garage.Originally posted by FASHOOTER View PostCar has been down this long what's the hurry?Last edited by alone_and_insane; April 7th, 2015, 12:07 PM.
