  • I wish I could help you more, but its just hard to picture what needs to be done without being there and seeing it

    • yea. Its basically just that every bracket wants to sit in the car at a 15 degree angle from the front bolt, except the inner passenger one which sits level. (as seen in the picture above).

                  • I am DYING to see what this thing weighs when its done. Its lightened, but not gutted. Ive had my fairly full weight 94 Z28 down to 3430 minus driver with boltons (which are a lot lighter than stock exhaust manifolds, cats, exhaust etc) and taking out the spare and jack. Im diggin this. Cool. Eric L

ABS is going to be the next thing to go in favor of a proportioning valve.

Air conditioning is on thin ice

Beyond that, not going to do much more, maybe some tubular components in the future. Definitely keeping it full interior other than back seats

Right now the front of the passenger seat is higher than the drivers. This is OK - much better than the rear of it being higher and throwing the whole thing off in comparison to the driver side. I am not sure if I am going to angle the driver's seat to match or not yet. We'll see. Wouldn't be hard to do if I decide to.

                        • Here are where I need to weld the tabs for the rear bolts. This shows how drastically offset stock f-body seat brackets are in more ways than one. The seat is in a neutral position on the slide rails in this picture.

I am also debating drilling holes in the brackets to lighten them some more... not sure if thats worth the work or not yet

Even with just the front two bolts mounted on both seats, they are surprisingly solid. Drove the car around all morning like this! Although for safety reasons in the event of an accident I wouldnt recommend it. I should have this done within the next day or two.

                          • Looks good. Did you weigh the stock seats and compare to these to see how much weight you saved?

I did not but according to the part/weight list on LS1 tech and the specs of these seats on their website I cut 20 pounds before adding these brackets. Not including getting rid of the rear seats of course.
