Ok guys i need some suggestions here. 3 out of 4 seat brackets go in perfectly how i want them (see bottom bracket in picture), but the inner bracket on the passenger side is blocked by a hump in the floor board. Ive taken some of the edge off the C-channel since this picture, and gotten it closer, but its still nowhere near close.
Sean used the same seats and he welded flat stock on the rear of the brackets to lift the back of the seats up essentially clearing the hump altogether. Good idea on his part, however unlike him I DO NOT want to do this because I explicitly like the seating position Ive got with the drivers seat right now and tilting it forward more than an inch would ruin it. I could just raise the passenger seat but then the seats would not sit level with each other, which I also would not like.
I am about ready to take a sledgehammer or cutter to the floorboard. Anyone have any better ideas?

I care in the sense that the seats would not be level with each other - and therefore look stupid.Originally posted by kammi10 View Postwhat do u care,.... u dont sit in the pass seat?
Im thinking about possibly finding a way to raise the fronts of both seats? If im going to adjust the tilt at all from what i have on the driver side i would like it to be back further rather than forward.
I need to think on this for a while...Last edited by JoeliusZ28; October 8th, 2010, 05:27 PM.-Joel

If it was me, I would break out the BFH and go to town. The carpet is going to hide it all anyway so it isn't like it has to look good anyway. If you want to raise the front of the seat, washers work great as spacers, as long as you aren't going too tall. If you need to go more than get some round tubing for a sleeve a little bit bigger than the bolt.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostI care in the sense that the seats would not be level with each other - and therefore look stupid.

The only thing is, spacing the front bolt doesnt offer nearly enough when it comes to clearing that thing. Ive probably got about a 1/4" or so to space before getting the nut on would become a problem.Originally posted by my95z28 View PostIf it was me, I would break out the BFH and go to town. I really have no idea what else to do other than cutting out a section of the floorboard so the track can fit there. (and then obviously patching the floor board somehow).Originally posted by ThreeHonks View Postjust keep up the thinking. The only other idea I have.... and this is probably the best idea, is to bend ALL four of the brackets just ahead of the front seat bolt. This would lift the front of the seats without using a spacer, and hopefully clear that hump in the floor. I'm going to look into that idea. The trick will be bending all 4 of them at just the same location and angle.-Joel
