  • My driver side exhaust pipe goes exactly where those fuel lines are. I flipped the bracket.

One step closer... still need to decide on a fuel pump.

For sure! I still have some parts to collect so it'll be a bit before I start on that yet.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the fuel pump Jim suggested before? (external walbro http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VPN-GSL392/ ). I'm thinking its either that or the racetronix at this point. 6AN line for either and I also have access to another sending unit if I want to go internal.

          • you may have seen the truck around but its a 98 chevy k1500 with the front clip painted flat black due to an accident. he lives at 26 and jewel and has ahd a walboro in for 200k. the truck has almost 300k on it now. just saying they seem like good pumps from what i have heard

How would it compare to a walbro 255? Seems like most people are very happy with walbro/racetronix reliability.

                • stealth are said to flow more.
my racetronics has probably 25k on it without issue. thought it went last year but it was just a filter problem. I know for sure they support 600+n/a.

                  • Do you know how they stand in terms of reliability? That is my #1 priority with this project regardless of internal or external. Don't want to be changing pumps in the parking lot like I almost did after this delco died

                    • The aeromotive 340's are new to the market in the last year or so. I'm sure they have been tested in a lab - but since they are so new there isn't a lot of public data on them.

The denso supra pump flows well and is supposed to be more reliable than the typical walbro. A lot of the turbo buick guys have turned to this pump after walbro had a few bad batches of pumps.

It's a physically bigger pump than the standard walbro and it flows about the same.

                      edit - http://www.densofuelpump.com/ - it flows more

                      • Well im leaning toward the in tank setup now. Will I need to do anything with the fuel pressure regulator if I run -6 braided the full length? I'm buried in homework right now, but I'd like to start getting some parts ready. I want to test the new fuel system on the OBD1 setup before i switch over to 24x

Ok cool. Also another thing I just thought of. Since LS1s usually run at 60psi (I think?) will I want to get a different adjustable fpr to match up with what the ls1 PCM is expecting in the base tune?

                              • No just adjust the tune before you start the car. It will need a base cal to get started anyways.
