This is the SAME cam that is in Red's car that we used for her 383.
    420 hp N/A with a 6-speed.

And the 227 heads are made to fit the LT4 intake ONLY!

And this would be a concern for me right here!
This is straight from AFR's site: http://www.airflowresearch.com/index.php?cPath=27_32

Standard rockers can be used but the intake rocker arm will be at a slight angle and the roller tip will not be perfectly centered on the valve tip.
Not recommended for street use, unless shaft mount rocker is used
    .

Hope you have some serious cash laying around because a shaft system is 1000 +.
the intake manifold is an edelbrock rpm airgap LT4 i believe i said that.. http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/...FcZM5Qod3Fxcrg

i know about the shaft mount rockers, and im going to get them. i ****ing love how everyone that reads what im goin to do has a shit

Sorry to offend you. You just seem set in your ways with this build. If you stay in that same direction it will not work out for you. period.

for example, your going to be running shaft mount rockers with a hydraulic roller cam.

im not set in my ways, im open for discussion. you have something then offer it instead of laughing pointing and insulting... thats all i have seen you do, i havent seen you come out and say well why dont you do this instead because this wont work... all i see are insults

          --Double post auto merged--

and by the way, i never said i was an expert at this, i have been do a ton of reading and learning a lot, i didnt just throw a list of parts together i did a ton of reading on each one, any concerns please present them im willing to listen and learn

Those are just some high dollar parts. I would love to explain it all but it takes a lot of time. talk to some people over on ls1tech and do some research on differnt builds with what has worked and what hasnt

I think you could build a car with your 11 second goals for wayyyyy cheaper than what you have planned, my question is what do you want out of the car? Drag, road racing, daily driver, what about hp? Those factors will decide which direction you go. Why build the car for a shot of nitrous then have to change the setup to a lower comp and then throw a massive blower on it? Just do one or the other the first time. What about trans, rear end, fuel, suspension those should all be a part of your package. Let us know your goals and we will have a better chance at helping you out.

did I miss something where you only wanted 11's out of the car?

If so, you can easily do that by porting the stock heads, with stock displacement (350 or 355 c.i.d.) and still have a hydraulic roller cam! build a pretty strong 355 that runs 11's on motor and spray 100 shot to it and crack high 10's!

he didn't say it in this thread but another that he started he mentioned wanting to beat his boss or someone at his work, that guys car ran high or mid 11s if I remember correctly. This is why I question his build, its sooo overkill and expensive.

Exactly. those heads are probably the best that the LT1 has now (for purpose built cars). wiht minor port and polish work they can flow really well. But they do take quite a bit of supporting mods to run them EFFECTIVELY

this was his original goal for his car.
