if you are going through all the work anyway then you are going to upgrade to an LS6 oil pump too (i think thats what jon has anyway)

i vote replace the gasket. better be safe than sorry. they're cheap and you'd hate to have to drop it again if the old one started leaking.

well, i had to drop it to get the timing chain off. and umm, in the process, the bolt thats on the oil pump tube thing, well, that fell. and i was able to get my tiny arm in there to pull it out, but then it slipped, so its waaaaaaaaaaay down there. and in the process, i noticed that it would be a good idea to change the gasket and i may or may not end up doing that depending on what it will require. either way, need to get that bolt out. lol yay for rants...

so, i got the spark plugs in today and the oil pan dropped. now i just need to get that ****ing bolt out of the oil pan. gotta measure for pushrods too, then i can do some more assembling also, chris taught me how to gap spark plugs today. that being said, i want to thank everybody who has helped me out with this. not just those who have helped me physically tinker in the car, but those who have taken the time to help explain some things to me. as i have explained before, i come from a house where it wasnt ok for girls to do this kind of stuff and anytime i tried the tools were taken away from me. thanks for not only letting me do stuff, but being awesome voices of encouragement!!! thanks again guys i cannot even express how appreciative i am

    That's how I work.

Slow when I first do it, to make sure I don't mess up, but the second time it can be done in a snap.
