if you were into that kinda thing youd know what the priority is The other thing is this could be last summer i get to enjoy the benefits of owning a truck

i had a date fall through just now so I am working on the car for the day. Im kinda stuck trying to get the timing gear on the crankshaft. It needs to go on a good 1/4" further and ive beat the crap out it pretty good to get it that far. I need a big socket or peice of pipe, and none of ours are big enough. Might have to visit some neighbors.

Looking ahead, the crank hub is gonna be fun too. I think i need a special tool to get that POS back on.

                      • Maybe you need a bigger hammer? I had to whale on the pulley to get it off the hub, so you know they're on there pretty tight.

                              • there are 3 keyways in a chloyes set for advancing and retarding. I used the correct one.

Right now I am really angry because I took the gear back off and re-oiled it. It went on much easier this time and bottomed out in the same spot. Appears to be as far as it goes. It wouldnt surpise me if I ****ed up a main bearing from beating this POS that doesnt even fit right. Im pissed.

If i pull the cam out right about to the point that it stops it lines up. Im not really liking that. I pulled a lifter and lobes line up with the lifters best when the cam is further back like i had it.
