$40,000 will buy an awfully nice 1st/2nd gen that will only appreciate as it gets older.

Agreed, even $20,000 would buy a pretty nice one, be it 1st or 2nd gen will have a hell of a lot more style then these things too. I'll take a 70-73 RS/Z28 please.............

Don't have the money, Don't really like the look of the new one (its not bad but its not great either), Don't want a new car, I like older cars, you can remove the emissions on them and not have a problem. Plus there are less "saftey controls" on older cars.

if he's prepaid your dad may want to rethink letting the dealer hold that amount of cash in these uncertain times

              - regardless of what dog & pony show the dealer put on for him, as of the time of this posting there are no provisions in the electronic ordering guide for the Camaro or any 2010 vehicle for that matter

              - they cartainly may have taken his money and assured him that his has been ordered, but at most he has been placed on an internal dealer order list and they are just holding the money as a deposit and collecting interest on it

              - we are supposed to receive our order & pricing guidelines sometime in October and official orders are going into the cue around November 1 (no date as yet)

That is exactly how we handled the Sky for almost a year before it came out. We had the customer come in leave their $1000 deposit, fill out a buyers order, and it got them in line for when we had cars allocated to us, then we would place their actual order.

I ask because my neighbor co-owns Saturn North & Southfield.

Would rather have a Challenger. Never been Mopar guy, but it's a better looking car IMO.
