I just bought a Motor Trend magazine and it had a couple pages on the new Camaro. Said its MSRP is approximately between $22,000 - $33,000.

They better be...the V6 Challenger initial MSRP was announced at a shade over $22K...but, gawd, are the base wheels U.G.L.Y.

Makes the car look like a 300 lb lady in a size 4 shoe...

Let me tell you the way an old married guy gets his way...

            1. Put the Harley up for sale

            2. Bought my wife the vehicle she loves (Range Rover Sport) so she won't fuss when I get the new Camaro...hey I know it's an expensive way to go but when mama aint happy, aint NOBODY happy! (and Daddy don't get new toys...)

Gonna paint the new one the reverse of my '69...white with the same color blue stripes...should make shows even more fun!

            Back to the garage....

I work a few miles from Chrysler Headquarters. I see multiple Challengers every day. I like them, but they're nothing special now.

Yep. Despite how much I like them (or perhaps, it's because of that), I feel both cars are special enough not for everyone to have one.

Just seems like they should be "special" vehicles.

Then again, I hope the Camaro works out well for GM.

Dealers Will Start Taking Orders in October for 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

                              Date posted: 2008-09-03 11:35:00.0
DETROIT — Without any fanfare, Chevrolet has released the second official image of the 2010 Camaro SS on the General Motors media Web site. Chevrolet Spokesman Terry Rhadigan told Inside Line on Wednesday that the effort is underway to give "traditionalists and enthusiasts something to whet their appetite."

Among the tidbits: Dealers will begin accepting orders for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS and the V6-powered 2010 Chevy Camaro coupe in October. Production will begin in mid-February, and cars will be in dealerships by mid-March 2009.

"We think there could be pent-up demand," said Rhadigan, explaining why orders are being taken well in advance of the car's appearance in showrooms. "The advice is to get to your Chevy dealer sooner than later." He noted that buyers "may have to put a deposit down" to get in line for the Camaro, but that requirement is completely up to Chevrolet dealers.

Rhadigan said that the idea of taking orders well ahead of production is not unique to the Camaro: Chevrolet dealers did the same thing with the Malibu and Traverse.

He would not disclose volume predictions for the Camaro SS or the V6 Camaro.

Rhadigan also said that the Camaro SS will return an estimated 23 mpg on the highway, compared to 26 mpg on the highway for the V6-engined model. The EPA has yet to rate either version of the new Camaro. Rhadigan said the details and images of the Camaro SS have lagged behind the marketing push for the base model for a simple reason: "We really wanted to get the fuel efficiency message out with the V6."

The first official image of the 2010 Camaro SS had a nontraditional debut in an advertisement in a Conde Nast magazine supplement in late August. The singer Fergie was photographed beside the car in a free supplement entitled "Fashion Rocks."

The Camaro SS is expected to be priced around $30,000, while the V6 cars will start in the low $20Ks.

What this means to you: You've got one month to scrape together that Camaro deposit. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

All I can say is I hope those MPG ratings are terribly sandbagged. 23 MPG highway is terrible. We are in the 20 range now with full size trucks.

The V6 model impresses me on a whole but not in the gas mileage department. 26 MPG is not 'a statement' when my 99 averages 34 hwy. (it was stickered 30)

I could see myself trading one or more of my vehicles in on the new v6 if the EPA rating shows better... AT LEAST 30 considering thats where the camaro was 10 years ago.
