Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Use the 1 piece oil pan gasket that Fel Pro makes. Its a lot better than those 4 piece designs. Also, don't be afraid to use RTV in the corners or wherever else you feel there might be a leak. I had issues with leaks coming out of my oil pan bolt holes. Some may need thread sealant. Its a real pain to get everything nice and pretty only to find out after break in and a few miles that you have a stupid oil leak.

Yea we're on top of that already, we've had the 1 piece Fel Pro gasket, but thanks for the heads up.
well the the old 350 needed some new parts and had a lot of miles on it. We were going to originally going to put it in my brother's 83 trans am, but decided to put it in my car. Also my dad plans on rebuilding the 350, plus some more horsepower never really hurt.
the car sat for 7 years before we bought it and there were several issues with the motor. we did just enough to get the motor running. The oil pressure was very low and we had to run 20w40 just to get 15 psi oil pressure at idle,so I'm sure that all the bearings are worn.Recently it dropped a lifter so instead of just fixing that problem we decided it was time to do the swap.I originally built the engine to use in a Trans Am project car.So I wii rebuild this 350 and swap it into the Trans Am.
I know it's been awhile, but we finally had a good day and enough time to get some primer and paint on the engine bay the other day. Heres some of the the pictures of the progress, unfortunately we had run out of paint and had to order some more. IMG_4123.JPGIMG_4124.JPGIMG_4125.JPGIMG_4126.JPGIMG_4127.JPGIMG_4128.JPG
You and your dad do top quality work. Glad my seats went to you! This is not only one of my favorite third gens its also probably one of my favorite cars on the site.
Thanks guys, we're hoping to get the paint some time this upcoming week and then we can finish the painting and finally get the motor upstairs and put in the car soon.
A lifter had dropped int the 350 plus it had a lot of miles on it so we decided it was time to do the swap and were are going to rebuild the 350 and probably put it our 83 trans am
