Almost everything is off the firewall now. Next step is to tape everything off and start sanding.

Use the 1 piece oil pan gasket that Fel Pro makes. Its a lot better than those 4 piece designs. Also, don't be afraid to use RTV in the corners or wherever else you feel there might be a leak. I had issues with leaks coming out of my oil pan bolt holes. Some may need thread sealant. Its a real pain to get everything nice and pretty only to find out after break in and a few miles that you have a stupid oil leak.

Yea we're on top of that already, we've had the 1 piece Fel Pro gasket, but thanks for the heads up.

Just putting in the 383 for more power? Also, what are you doing with the old 350?

well the the old 350 needed some new parts and had a lot of miles on it. We were going to originally going to put it in my brother's 83 trans am, but decided to put it in my car. Also my dad plans on rebuilding the 350, plus some more horsepower never really hurt.

the car sat for 7 years before we bought it and there were several issues with the motor. we did just enough to get the motor running. The oil pressure was very low and we had to run 20w40 just to get 15 psi oil pressure at idle,so I'm sure that all the bearings are worn.Recently it dropped a lifter so instead of just fixing that problem we decided it was time to do the swap.I originally built the engine to use in a Trans Am project car.So I wii rebuild this 350 and swap it into the Trans Am.

I know it's been awhile, but we finally had a good day and enough time to get some primer and paint on the engine bay the other day. Heres some of the the pictures of the progress, unfortunately we had run out of paint and had to order some more.
