the aircraft is by far the strongest ive used, but its no miracle worker either. I think it would have gone better had i started with the aircraft remover but i couldnt find it anywhere. Everyone said they got it at home depot which doesnt have it, I had to go to the dupont store.

How thick are you putting it on??? I think for best results you have to put it on kinda thick.......just in case you weren't already doing this.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View Post
good news is that it seems to be working !
... however just as painfully slow
If i had known this paint was this tough I would have just bought the real things. I expected this to be the easy part.

Yes I definitely agree and I am trying to but it is easier said than done, most of the paint is on the side edges of the wheel so the more i put on, the more likely it is to run off.Originally posted by 92conv View PostHow thick are you putting it on??? .... I've done a few wheels this way too in the past, it's never as easy as you had first hoped, but it far out weighs sanding (done that before too, not recommended.
)!! Good luck, and just remember the end result is going to be well worth it!!!

Alright i tried something new: dilluted the stripper with some water to make it easier to dope on in heavy layers and it seems to be helping considerably. The hardest part about doing this is keeping the chemical from drying.
Im probably going to have to go buy another can of stripper. my budget for this project has long since been blown out of the water.
