Got it all back together and what a night and day difference. Less noise, less interior vibration. It sounds like a respectable car now. Before it sounded like the Clampets were coming to town.

Ok here we go! Parts galore! I've been keeping the UPS driver very busy. Ordered new outer tie rods and a booster kit from Speedway Motors. The kit came with a dual feed master cylinder, and a dual 7 inch diaphragm booster. This should solve any braking issues. Manual pedal brakes are for the birds.
Also, i'll be ordering my interior door panel material. This stuff is much better quality than the stuff i sampled earlier. Plus, they have a true black. The pleated vinyl is actually heat pressed and not stitched, but it looks to be of quality.

Greg, that chrome is way pitted for the taillights. To replace them would be very expensive and the parts are hard to come by. I'm sure i could clean up the bumpers some. Still debating going for a brushed finish. My friend, Mike, has some 50's desoto bumpers that might be a cool look. The paint will be an off white with a matte clear, pinstripes all over the place.Originally posted by Gregs_gsxr View Postnice plate ! polish the chrome, clean paint, pin strip it, wheels and tires....air ride over the winter thing would be done.
Those wheels and tires are brand new from coker tire. PO spend over 1200 bucks on them. They'll be there to stay. Definitely going for the billetproof / traditional style vibe here.
You might not be too far off with the air ride! The IROC taking a dump was a bit of a setback though.

Well the trials of the power brake install continue.
Upon disassembly we discovered a cobbled together brake assembly with a piece of pipe as a spacer. It also looked like somebody punched out the firewall with an air hammer.
Got the booster mocked up with a custom clevis mount.

Guess we found out what that spacer was for.

Who needs brake travel anyway..? Going to try to modify the pedal assembly that's there. I'm not sure what it's out of but I think this car was originally 3 on the tree.
Worse case scenario.. new brake pedal assembly.

If i don't sell this car and decide to keep and drive it... I'll go the air ride way. My goal is to have it at autorama in the basement and try to sell it for a nice profit.Originally posted by Gregs_gsxr View PostWell when and if your wanting to take to the AIR ride way...I still have friends that work at AIR RIDE Tech.
