Looks like the one gasket slid down on the bolts instead of staying in place. Probably would help to use the copper gasket stuff, gets the gasket really tacky so it stays in place instead of slipping around. So did you guys fix the intake gasket and put it back together?

How well dose the gasket match the intake. Looks like the gaskets is just alittle to short for the top of the port.

The only one I know of is Troy that works at Howell efi in marine city. And lives in utica.
Now I'm not sure if he was the one who did the tuning for Stan at evi, but he used to do all stans tuning on stans terms of course.

sorry i can't remember the gasket number or even the day i was out there and put the intake on. At that time i was still getting treatments and was on all kinds of stuff. I was just trying to help.

it is what is it...just need to push forward, we haven't tried taking off the gasket, not sure if we should reuse it or replace it. It doesn't appear to be damaged, just looks like it fell upon install or when the intake was placed on it.

Again, this leak maybe a small part, who knows what the inside of the PCM looks like. One problem at a time. So as a team we will start with the gasket.

Before putting the intake on check the gasket ports against the intake ports. It's very possible Holley gave the wrong part number. Lithium grease will hold it into place and make the gasket reusable at least 1 time. I'll look and see if I have that other pcm. That gasket looks a alittle to small on the top of the intake port.

Looks like the gasket slid, both are oriented correctly.

What heads are you running? Ports look tall, likely require a certain part number gasket

I will try to help you guys out with the chip stuff. I've been slammed at work, side jobs, and work around the house. I've been running on Red Bull for the past week

Even if the gasket was correctly positioned it looks like it would be really close to not covering that intake port on the head. Even if it did, I could easily see the possibility that it wouldn't be enough to seal properly. Doesn't really look like the correct gasket IMO, especially if it's covering the port on the intake manifold side as well.

i would be still be pissed if we straighten the gasket and it does the same damn thing. You would think with a big gap, when we used the torch it would have changed something, like Ken was saying.

It would unless the gap was on the bottom drawing air from under the intake. But I really don't like the looks of that gasket.

Greg look at the front china wall, where the tab from the gasket sits in the rtv. If that gasket was like that during/from the install the rtv will show it. When you remove it do it slowly and carefully the tab should have left an imprint from the installation showing the position it was in when installed. But I agree with some of the other guys, those gaskets dont look tall enough to seal those ports.

Look at the tab in the first pic of the head without the manifold. You can see the tab is embedded in rtv and it is folded where the china wall and head meet.

I'd think this is the idle issue problem. Its clear the gaskets became pushed down during installation of the intake which no one is at blame for. Should I be concerned about the coolant port color in the new head?

With a gap that large on bank 2, I doubt running some propane around it would make a difference with the idle being as high as it was.

Really need to know what heads are on it. There are so many options when it comes to intake manifold gaskets, the port height can vary as much as 3/8"

Edit: I wouldn't be too concerned with the water ports. Using original radiator, original heater core, or old pump? The look pretty clean to me, just a little oxidation.
