I would for sure get rid of the mono blade. Put a stocker on it till you get it running right.

Pretty much the same thing mine was doing when I changed my intake manifold. Intake leak and bad maf (junk granatelli). Nothing better than several things going wrong at once

thanks guys, maybe ill head over there tonight and see what the throttle body change will do. It has a factory MAF on it, however upon closer inspection on the wires inside is broken, not sure if this a small problem or will cause the high idle too. The engine ran and idled before, same PCM, which is probably tuned all off the charts and f'ed up from EVI before. AIR and EGR deleted but that was also done before hand too.

SO here is the game plan:
        1. change back to stock TB and see what happens
        2. see if we can put a scan tool on it., buy or borrow one maybe
        3. maybe replace the MAF.

Sucks I already changed from the stock to the newer TB connections which is from Arizona Speed and Marine products.

Sounds like a good plan to me. A bad MAF will do all sorts of odd things to 165 PCM.

I could possibly head over and take a look next week. I'd only need fuel cost compensation. I have all the stuff to read/write and scan. My chip burner doesn't work with stock chips though, but I can lend my adapter and eeprom chip

If an element in the maf is broken its not going to work right. I'd start there. Not sure if someone close by has one they could lend or pull off their car just to try it before going out and buying one

Slowly completely cover the throttle body opening. It should die rather quickly but I think you have an intake leak.

tried to cover the throttle body and it wanted to eat my hand. Does anyone have a MAF that we could borrow?

this motor will be fine on that throttle body. iv used this combo before minus the intake. but that don't mean there isn't a problem with there part so lets not kick that out the window yet. heres a check list.

                      1. check the idle screw. as theres are adjustable.
                      2. there where 3 intake types so take a un lit propane torch and turn it on and point it around the area where the intake touchs the head. if the idle changes there a leak.
                      then switch the thottlebody.

please post a video of what its doing so I can see and hear the motor.

idle set screw is all the way backed out. IM not sure what you mean by 3 types of intakes, its a Holly Stealth Ram. I'll be over there again this weekend so I'll post a vid sometime then.

edit: not sure who is more frustrated him or me

when I called holly about the intake they told me there where 3 different bases for that. or generations if you will. where they had modified the base plate to work better with aftermarket heads.

yes and the intake gasket part number to use. but im wondering if they got something crossed now. jake and I both researched the info before him buying the heads. but for those rpms there has to be a huge vacume leak.

so he is giving me the part numbers again and im going to call and see if the story changes at all. or what information/help we can get... I let yall know
