After many hours of thinking about this: I'm finally going to try an auto in my car.

Talking with RPM transmissions - I broke the blocker rings in the T56 so it needs a rebuild again.

So I here is the plan:

Used 4l80e - bought picking up the weekend $275 ebay
    A4 pedals - bought $50
    6an 4l80e cooler fittings -$20 ebay

    Still need:
    Convertor - FTI nitrous 4000 stall engine - and 4300ish on a 150hit. $829
Flexplate - probably should buy an SFI unit - looking into
    M6-4l80e swap harness - Speartech - $200
Shifter - my Dad has a couple used b&m shifters that I'm going to look at if none of them will work I'll buy a new one or go factory a4 console/shifter
Yoke - trans is coming with a stock yoke, I may or may not try to run with it
    Shiftkit - Transgo HD2 $120ish from summit
Crossmember - BMR $180 from summit
    Cooler/Lines/Fittings - $200ish from summit
    Internal trans wiring - $40

Debating on selling some of the M6 stuff that I won't need to free up some funds. If someone needs a quicktime bellhousing, pro 5.0 shifter, tick master - let me know.

    Should be interesting.....

Thanks Jeff - FTI was confident that the 60' and 330' would drop substantially

no doubt about it I went 1.4s and I hardly know what I'm doing, I think you can go a bit faster than I did.

Hi, I noticed the swap you are doing. I have a tci T Com trans controller that will work for you. You need a lap top with floppy dick drive and windows 98. I used in my 94 bird.
Let me know if you are intrested. I have complete including directions.

Thanks - but I'm just going to use the stock pcm to control it

I'm committed to the 80 so far. It works out better as I'll be able to reuse my driveshaft and such, and it'll help keep cost down.

Picked up the trans today - It's nice and clean inside. Very little residue in the pan

With the 80 do you have to beat the tunnel at all for it to fit? what diameter converter did fti want to put in it? For sure your car will pick up et no problem with the swap... Looking forward to some pictures! it's gonna be a good race between you and Jim

There is some modification to the tunnel near the main harness connector, either bfh or cut the brace.

                          FTI wanted to go 9.5"

Larry was right this is one heavy *****.

I'll get the swap and wiring sorted out and then we can put one in Jim's car - all he'd need to do is the "relay" mod to control it.

they need to make a 90 harness so you dont have to mod the brace. I looked into making one or moving the wires to another location

Larry what sfi flexplate did you end up running?

The TCI looks better than the alternatives but it's big $$$
