  • [Project] 2000 pontiac trans am project build

Back in October I bought my first f-body. 2000 Trans Am Black ext. Tan/ebony int. T-tops and a 4 speed auto. car was bone stock.

Over the winter i've started accumlating aftermarket goodies, and new interior parts.

the bad: the upperdash pad was cracked, both door pads were cracked, the drivers seat has some stiching that is pulling out, and the passanger sun visor pops down when hitting a bump. and a few dents in the driver side rear fender.

Between December and Feburary, the driver side mirror mount broke so i played hell finding a new mount. so i just got a new mirror and had my dad paint it to match the car. I also found a new driver side door pad. and a sun visor mount that was still tight so hopefully the visor will stay up now. also for christmas i bought my self and SLP air intake lid and K&N fliter, founders performance strut mount brace, and my EX got me a set of what i thought were pacesetter headers, but later found out they were just the cheap ones on ebay. I put the fliter and lid on when we had that 60 Degree day in January.

since it getting closer to spring it time to start getting more goodies to the house and ready to have installed.
over the last week and a half it's been like christmas on my front porch every night i get home from work!

    Here's what's came so far.

    SLP LID:

Founder Strut tower brace, LCA and Panhard bar:

17"x 9.5" AR TT2 high polished wheels mounted to 275x40x17 BF goodrich Gsport Comp2 tires:

Cross drilled and sloted rotors/ with brake pads

    B&M Transmission oil cooler kit.

Spohn Torque Arm and transmisson tunel brace:

    Founders Weld in SFC:

Texas Speed 1 3/4 SS headers:

    Texas Speed SS 3" Y-pipe:

    Texas Speed Rumbler Cat Back:

NGK TR55 Plugs and O2 sensor extenions:

    T/A rear diff cover:

Now I just need to find the time to get everything put on.

What are you planning to do to the interior? If you're changing the color, I'm looking for some tan interior parts still. Heh heh. I mean, if you decide to go all black interior or something.
Glad to see another 2000T/A being rebuilt, looks like you are a bit ahead of me in the accumulation area. Going to take me awhile to start building up parts.

Ooooooooh whats this? A new build?

                    Parts Parts Parts.

The only thing I would do is what I was recommended doing, look into Sophn Torque Arms failing. Google it.

they must of went downhill over the years. I've had mine for 5+ years, no issues at all.. I've seen the failures on tech also..

plan to keep the tan interior, but it's hard to find good tan interior parts. only interior part i need is a passenger side door pad, and upper dash pad. i do have a set of door pads off a 93 t/a that have tan carpet on then insted of the leather.

crap wish i would have know about that sooner. may just have to heat the bad weld up, break it and reweld it properly.

Next part is a magnaflow 14419 bullet to make the magna mouth system. Some trans am fuel rail covers, nice set of pypes tips.

i'm gonna hold off on the converter till i get a new rear end, thinking about a moser 12 bolt with 3.73. Then move to the engine. Heads and cam within 4 years.

Also looking at getting another pontiac either a new GTO or G8 GT
