Yea, I just started seeing issues with them in the last year or so.. No idea what they changed.. If mine was going to break, it would of broke by now.. Been used and abused..
Guess they built them better 5 years ago!

Tell me about it. I ended up painting and rebuilding a pair of gray door panels for my car, though I did take advantage of the opportunity to shift the color slightly. Planning to pull off the rest of the passenger side plastics and repaint them this weekend, weather permitting.Originally posted by riderman329 View Postplan to keep the tan interior, but it's hard to find good tan interior parts. only interior part i need is a passenger side door pad, and upper dash pad. i do have a set of door pads off a 93 t/a that have tan carpet on then insted of the leather.

I used it in the rebuilt door panel. I just painted the plastics from the bray door and rebuilt the old one with the new plastics. I took advantage of the opportunity to change the color slightly, its now a more "brown" tan instead of the slightly greyish stock tan. Closer to the headliner color. Heres a picture of the rebuilt door panel:Originally posted by riderman329 View Postwhat are you doing with the leather insert pad?

It wasn't too bad. I just trimmed the melted part of the heat stakes off, the only hard part was getting the arm rest off of the outside plastic. Those heat stakes werte actually welded plastic to plastic. Only took about half an hour to strip it down. Putting it back together was a bit harder, but just took a couple of wood clamps and some patience. Though there is a very small gap at the very front of my speaker, but you can't see it even with the door open.Originally posted by riderman329 View PostHow difficult was it to pop the plastic panels off the other doors, with the 98 model plastic change kinda worried about taking them apart

Alright i'm gonna need your guys help...
As the summer is approching the OT at work is increasing. Any one know of a good shop in the flint area that can put everything on the car, I dont mind driving a little futher if I have too.
I want to get at least the headers and exhaust and torque arm put on, pretty much everything i'll need a lift for, I can pay my dad to do the rest. I just flat out wont have the time come April.
I think i'm gonna have DR Phil do the tune. Just need to get everything on the car first. and get a trailer to take to take the car down.
I was thinking EVI cus there close, but a few people have kind of told me to steer clear from them.

Its not too difficult. There is a series of heat stakes around the perimeter of the pad. You just need to trim them down enough to get the stake to pop through, peel it off, and then put the new one on in its place. I used an industrial strength high temp hot glue we have at work to re-attach mine. If you need any help, just let me know.Originally posted by riderman329 View PostMy plan for tomorrow is to take the front seat out, so monday i can take them to flint auto upolstry to have resewn.
and see what i need to do to take the 93 door pad with the carpet insert of and put the leather one on from my curent door pad

i'm taking the car to AL's transmission when ever it stops raining. So I can have the pinon seals replaced on the rear diff find out what else is leaking, get the gear lube changed and put the cover of at the same time.Originally posted by BP_Z28 View PostHey that bullet muffler looks familiar haha.
