    • What gear ratio did you have before? What gears are going in?

The fuel system is the one thing I'd rather not cheap out on and I've heard horror stories about the cheap rails, no to mention Huron speed is a nasty Nate dealer

rolo the rear currently has 3.73s we are swapping to 3.55s not a huge difference but the gears were cheap ($25) and our buddy is doing the install for free. Not to mention the 3.73s whined so horribly it was almost unbearable to drive the car.

We have a transbrake to spool the turbo. I rather cross the stripe at 6500 instead of 5500. The closer to max RPM the better IMO.

            • 3.23 would make for an awesome turbo street car though. I am going with that this time around on a taller tire. 3.42s in mine currently are fine but I want to go faster in my 1:1. Should go about 167 ish at the end of 4th at 7000 if the gear ratio calculator is correct. I am looking forward to doing that Michigan Mile this summer though. For the track I would use a 355 ish like Mike said and not leave power/mph under the table in the 1/4 mile.

                  • I would have glady swapped in some 3.27s but these are what we found on the cheap, turbo cars love the load that comes from long gears not to mention its be nice to keep the rpms a tad lower on the freeway with no lockup or OD.

                    • Well not a lot of progress but enough to where we can start cleaning underneath the car in anticipation for parts to start going back in, once the rear is back under it we will pull the motor.

                        • The trap door was done years ago. We are completely replacing the tank this time tho.

                              • not much been happening lately, we did get the fuel rails and I should have some more mail today, possibly order the converter soon. Next steps are to get the pump and harness ready to sell and then prep the float assembly to go back in. Going to use one stock line for a return so have to order that fitting and then get some hose and a filter for the vent. Anything special I need to do to get the gas out of this tank?
