  • Yes, the e-tec heads would require a vortec style intake.

They would lower the compression on the 305, not sure about the 350 (probably up the CR)

I was afraid it would require a different intake manifold. By the time I buy the heads, intake manifold, gaskets, drive to the other side of the state/shipping, I will have $8-900 into making the cylinder heads work. At this time I would rather use what I have and use that money towards a brake upgrade or safety items.

Thanks for the offer but I am going to pass on it for now. Tyler is more than welcome to take you up on the offer. The cam swap would snow ball into upgrading the valve train (springs/timing chain) and I'm not sure the benefit to cost ratio is justifiable with a 305. See above.

LT1 cam would only need the cheap "z28" springs. No need to upgrade the timing chain.

At minimum. I like the fact the 305 is a form of fuel injection but if I can sell it for a few hundred bucks I will sell and install a 350.

To my knowledge passenger cars started using roller cams in the mid 80 but trucks didn't start using them to the mid 90s

                        • 350 tbi would do nice with an lt1 cam too or you could ditch tbi, go carb and basically d wahtever the hell you want. but im sure you already know all that so im basically not giving you any useful info. anywho once again my theory on roller blocks is wrong. i gotta get that stuff straight one day.

If it doesn't, there is still plenty of weight that can be removed....
