• You won't regret it. You get much better feedback from the car when youre not in a stock seat thats bending around all the time.

Agreed I can't wait, even if they aren't the highest quality, anything will be a great improvement over the stock seats.

            • Did you consider getting 6 point belts?

I did, but the 5pts are more comfortable IMO.

Started doing some work last night, now I just need to modify these damn brackets so I can drive without my head sticking out of the t-tops like JoeliusZ28 warned me about.

                • Its the rear mounts you really need to worry about. The front can stay high, almost helps hold you in the seat better that way anyway.

edit: I don't get the hype behind the 6-point belts either. Good choice. I didn't even use the 5th point on my 5-point harnesses... useless clutter IMO. Even as a 4-point setup they hold you in great.

                  • Looks good! Are the lap belts pull up or pull down? In my experience, pull ups are much easier to tighten.
Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.

                    • 5 point is useless without the crutch strap.

                        • I couldn't deal with a crotch strap unless I was doing some seriously crazy driving. I run this Schroth 3pt (https://www.schrothracing.com/tuning/rallye/rallye-3) it bolts into OEM mounts, and didn't require a harness bar. Has a standard style seat belt latch, and an anti-submarine feature and is one of the few harnesses I've seen that are DOT approved.

If I had a harness bar I would have got a schroth 4pt but I don't see the point of adding weight till it needs it.

Assuming you mean crotch strap I beg to differ. I honestly dont see any purpose to it at all. Maybe if you didnt have good bolsters on your seats it would serve a purpose.

It's an anti submersion belt. If you wreck you can slide down and forward and or the belts pull up off your hips and can crush you.

                              • Ive tried that in my car, the lap belts wont allow me to slide down.
