Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

DRYSUMP's Yet Another Restoration Project...Project
I'm open to new wheel suggestions.... Cheap wheels and road racing don't mix... Post your suggestions gang
I know you want to fit big brakes but id keep the wheel diameter as small as possible. Having pushed 16s, 17s, and 18s to their limits on my car, I thought 17s were the best balance between crisp response and predictability. The smaller/stiffer sidewall of the 18s seems to make them more prone to "unsettle" over a bump than the 17s...but less unsprung weight with IRS might help fix that. Cheaper tires is another benefit.
If it were my car I think I'd try to keep my wallet closed and use the wheels you have with some C5 brakes (pretty sure they clear in most 17" wheels).

Not a bad thought at all. Also I might have a chance to experiment with some c6 z06 calipers and rotors in the near future.
C5 front brake conversions dont work on TT2's and TTM's, as well as some others.
doh, well I guess don't listen to me then. If an 18 or larger has to be used then I would pay attention to the weight of the wheel. I think that unsprung weight makes as much of a difference in the car unsettling over a bump as the stiffer sidewall. Those formula 43's look like a great choice.
And all that said I love my 18s on the street! Im not pushing them hard enough that unsettling is a problem there, and the extra crisp response is definitely nice to have.
C5 brakes do clear some 17's. My 17" WS6 wheels clear them just fine.
Maybe try finding two sets of the rears of the magnesium wheels that came on Vettes for a short while? The rears are 18's, but talk about lightweight, and if you don't like the gold even better since you could search for a not-perfect set and have them powdercoated to your liking.
^^^ Hold on Jim.... Kolin shouldnt be stressed in having to worry about having to spend a 2 day salary on powder coat. No sir! He cans spend some hard earned couch change on plasti-fail. That way he can change the color weekly!!!

Yes they do clear MOST 17s (I am running them and I am on 10 spokes) , but they do not fit the TT2 type wheels.

You know, he's just a college kid....
The moment you see me use plasti-crap on my car, knock me out and take my keys please.
Just cruising last night and out of no where lost power. Cranks way too easy and wont fire. Praying that its something stupid/simple.... Sick to my stomach now

I'll admit, when I saw the pictures, I thought you got busted for doing a burnout or racing or something and your car got seized...so I'm glad to see that's not the case haha
