    • Looks a ton better! I always push 'em out into the sun for a real assessment though, you might need a little more color than you think to make sure it's an even base coat

        • thinking i might just go back to my original plan of painting it hugger orange, what u guys think, keep it the metallic blue or do the hugger orange, never had so much trouble laying metallic paint in my life.

            • yeah its gonna be awhile before i can bring it out in the daylight, theres no tranny to hold the engine up.and i only have 18 hour recoat window to clearcoat it,so hopefully its good enough went over the whole car with a spot light and it looks awesome.looks about good as can be expected from a metallic paint, painted in the garage.thx larry i appreciate it.

                      • i see a hugger orange car in my very near future,if this paint gives me one more problem its getting scuffed and painted orange like i originally planned its just too difficult to lay the metallic paint in the tight garage i have,it will get scuffed with 800 grit and i will order some good dupont basecoat,no more single stage paint for me.lesson learned.

                          • yeah she looks really good so far but has been a nightmare to get it to look that good lots of thin coats and has a little orange peel in the clearcoat on the roof wich is an easy fix,she sure did turn out good and glossy the clearcoat is like glass exept for the roof wich i can fix with some cut and buff, but still have the doors and front clip to do,this paint is a nightmare runs really easy should have ordered some good basecoat instead of this single stage,if i can get the rest to turn out this good she will be staying blue, should be a little easier with painting the pieces off the car, have more room to see what im doing.this paint is really kind of cool it changes color with the amount of light.

That is exactly the reason I would always paint metallics/pearls with everything bolted on. The angle at which the paint is applied can change the color for that panel. I'd hate to see a door look darker/lighter than the rest.
