u know when i picked up this car for 500 bucks my intention was to just scuff and shoot the body with new paint, give it a one day paint job and just try to make it presentable as a drag car,but it turned into a little more than thathere we are going on 3 months and im just getting ready to paint it,was just gonna throw the engine in and drive it,but upon inspection the car was way to nice to not give it the attention it deserved.

I can relate when it comes to shooting a pearl/metallic
I try to lay down multiple thin coats rather than a coulpe thin and one wet coat.

Is it possible to wet sand the blue paint until it's smooth and then just do another light coat over it?- Brian Meissen

Yep. I would block it smooth and shoot two or more light coats over it. Keep constant speed during your passes, I liked to keep a tight overlap to prevent tiger stripes when I was shooting my blue pearl. That was me though, I'm not a professional by any means!Originally posted by meissen View PostIs it possible to wet sand the blue paint until it's smooth and then just do another light coat over it?

yeah im just gonna wet sand it smooth again, then give it multiple coats of light passes, maybe 2 more coats,im just angry at myself for being in such a hurry, thank god i didnt clearcoat it yet then it would be much more difficult to fix,its an easy fix but im not gonna respray it until i have time to take my time and do it right, after all the time i took to prepare it,im just made at myself for trying to paint it and be in a hurry.im no pro either this is only the second time i ever sprayed a pearl/metallic before, and the first time i ever sprayed a car in my garage,a booth works so much better and has the proper lighting.
