Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Running into a few small issues..
-High idle on cold start up, and sometimes after I drive for 20 minutes it will still idle at around 1100 or 1200 and randomly drop down to 850 and idle steady there.. Is this related to the lid swap I just did?
- horrible gas mileage. Like 9-10MPG that's driving easy. I know I've for 4.10s but I don't think it should drop my mileage from 15-16 to 9-10. Or is it my 160 t stat and early fans that are causing my PCM to add more fuel to help warm it up?

Is your car tuned to compensate for the gears in the speedometer/odometer? That could cause your mileage calculations to be off as well. I don't think your thermostat and fan settings in the PCM will have much of an impact on fuel economy, at least they didn't when I did the same in my '93 (tuned for lower fan on temps, installed 160* t-stat). Is the car running rough at all? If it's just your idle that's acting strange, I'd say you should run a scanner on it, and see if it's throwing any hard-set codes, as they won't cause an SES light. Could be something like an O2 sensor going bad, a TPS throwing the PCM off, etc.
Check for any codes it may be throwing. That will tell us if it's a sensor issue, or maybe something was thrown out of whack mechanically. Shouldn't have that drastic of an impact on the economy, just swapping gears and doing the LS1 lid conversion. . .

No it's also not tuned for the trans swap itself so the speedo is way off. But the odometer isn't too badly off. Ill have to scan it and see what's going on because 8.5 MPG isn't cutting it. Car doesn't run rough and I really hope it isn't a bad 02 I just put new ones in.

If the speedometer is way off, the odometer is way off also, as they use the same input from the PCM. Get it tuned for the gears and trans swap, and your mileage will miraculously improve. haha
Just for curiosity's sake, how far off is your speedometer?

At 55 it reads 35 and 35 it reads 24 it's off by a percentage I just don't know that number lol. But I know a strip of road that is exactly 1 mile and it read .8 miles so it can't be that badly off. Also when driving around I noticed that when I took a route that I know is 13 miles Long I went through 1/8th of a tank. Ill get it fixed and see if it helps. Thanks!
Update: Got my side markers and third brake light tinted. i think its the perfect shade, still need to get them back off and wetsand and buff them. but it makes the car look a lot meaner IMO
i had the 160 t stat and early fans with the auto trans and 2.73s still had 14-15 MPG
get your OBDI PCM re-chipped and we can fix my car in an afternoon
That's still terrible mileage for 2.73 gears. Your speed is off anywhere from 20 to 35 percent (your numbers don't line up, but by the speeds you gave I'd say around 35%)
