  • EGR is on the back of the intake manifold. Could be part of the AIR. Will have to ponder about it.

See this is what happens when you're 18 and impatient, just start hacking shit and when you could of measured and saw it wasn't going to work from the get go

    • Why do you need a SLP lid? A lid is a lid.

It's a common and relatively cheap route to go.

        • 98+ OEM lid has air ballasts (not sure if that's the right term) that extend into the engine bay to reduce intake noise.

Hard to tell exactly what connectors you have in your hand. Red connector is usually for the charcoal canister purge solenoid. I think the three wire black connector with purple boot is for the MAF sensor on the LT1

Those air ballasts are what hit my
            Alt.

And my MAF has an identical connector. It's really weird..

            • Doing all this work to use a stock lid would be foolish anyway. Stock lids have terrible flow.

I meant why spend on a SLP, lid is a lid, you can find a cheaper aftermarket lid like MTI. Unless you just want the SLP name?

                  • I sold my SLP lid on craigslist for $50. They aren't overly expensive.

Should be able to get a lid for like 60-70 then I need to get trimming on that LS1 rad. Support so I can use the stock bolt locations, or should I just use self tappers and put them wherever I can?

I would trim it first, if it works out it will look better

So when measuring to cut into that brace, put the top of the filter on the lip of the radiator and cut to fit?

Edit: I just want to make sure, because everytime I did that the measurements came out so that I needed to cut a lot of that brace.

I have the LS plastics as far as I know. I'm pretty sure I have an entire LT1 engine bay.
As you can see there's a lot of that beam/brace/support that block airflow to the filter.
