Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Without a long painful story and the gory details in how this could have happened, I have a bad/broken lifter. Fortuneatly, the engine stays in....for now. Intake will be removed in pieces...*****ing erector set from hell. The process of peeling that onion back starts tomorrow morning. Kinda wanna throw up a little. BUT, if all goes as planned, will be better than before in terms of a "sound" valve train and may gain a new bling upgrade or two and could be back in running shape in a week
Process of disassembly starts with removing one tube at a time, removing the linkage, rails, leaving only the cast housing....unbolt and remove. I hope...
Looks easy enough

I dare to ask the cause? Is this all on your dime?
Thanks....
Cause? Not yet....may fully disclose the theory behind what happened and hope will be confirmed once we get in there.
My dime? Yes and no. You can only get so much blood from a rock and VSpeed has coughed up a portion. It will never be enough IMO given my "investment", but I'm pretty cranked right now. Emotions aside, I kick the can one more time and move on.
FWIW, I can't give enough props to the Car Guys in Brighton for their effort and knowledge.

Much easier to drop it out the bottom and pull the heads. What lifters? What makes tthem think its broke?
On a non-show car, sure. The detail that's at risk will make me puke......violently and often. Heads don't have to come off...RHS block has nice accessible windows for quick change shit like this. Lunati link bars.....#1 intake side damn near bottoms out during adjustment. All of them were loud from the start but made adjustments and were "fine" with exception to a couple. #1 was the worst.....not taking any chances.

lol, all i do is show cars. had an engine out of a 2014 today. cant scratch the car if your not near it.
forgot about the RHS block...
I know....if it were you or I doing it....no worries. As much as I trust the guys turning the wrenches on it now, I've got to take the option with the lowest risk....and least amount of hrs to complete
Wish I had "race car"

All part of what a buddy of mine calls "going down a road less traveled". Problem is I think the problem is what may have CAUSED the lifter failure and not so much the lifter failing. Hoping for more a little more clarity later today....
Damn Dude That Sucks. You can't seem to catch a break. Sounds like you need a Good Luck.
But if your Tired of working on it I have a 96 Olds 98 with and Ice cold case of labbets Blue sitting on the back seat I'll trade you straight up for it.
