Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
I hope you are getting compensated in some form for allowing then to use your engine as a test mule (other than a free cam, cause that is negligible). Seems they are exploiting a great opportunity to use your uncommon build to test their newest design.
EDIT: to add, it is a perfect marketing opportunity for them as well to be able to say there was a gain of X horsepower over Y brand's camshaft. There will be an increase seeing you are going to be spinning it higher and a slightly larger cam. Looks like a win-win situation for them.
I gotta agree with this completely. It only makes sense. I wouldn't make a huge deal about it but there should be some kind of compensation to you. This engine is breaking new grounds for lsx na motors. I mean 800hp?! And all the companies involved are gaining serious recognition. While were talking business, you should trademark/patent whatever the call it, "Overkill"!
Btw why not spin it to 7500-8000 just to see* what the max you can get out this beast?
This engine is breaking new grounds for lsx na motors.
Not entirely there are actually several n/a ls motor making more than his but nobody is doing it in a street car platform, really kind of pointless if you ask me, but then again this is hot rodding and I think anything with too much power is kinda cool. The only thing really nobody has done yet is the new crane cam lobe design and trust me there have been several new lobes for the lsx motor lately its not THAT big of a deal IMO. As for spinning the motor higher I would love to see it as well but the camshaft design will be completely different only to be swapped back out again for Brent's ultimate goals.
Well I was speaking more on the lines of having a nimble engine on the street, that's perfectly reliable and daily drivable, yet makes those huge HP numbers without any sacrifice.
And I agree about the new cam crane is designing, new lobe designs are serious marketing hype IMO. Like you said, not that big of a deal.
And if this build has me wanting to call VS and do a big cube NA street motor instead of just going turbo with my ls1, they're gaining more from this build then just what Ovrkll is paying. 700rwhp in any NA combo is insane, 500-599rwhp isn't out of reach with a fbody build. I guess I just really appreciate the work of art VS has made.
