yeah, I know. Where do you think I found them? lol

new problem. My AC quit working towards the end of last week. I just got it charged less than 2 1/2 weeks ago, so I'm kinda ticked that it crapped out already. It got me thinking, maybe that squeaking I've been hearing is my AC compressor pulley and the compressor now not working could be related...

      • the thing is that the AC worked fine while the squeak was going on for two weeks, so idk if they're connected or not.

also, here's a pic of the car with those rims:

        what do you guys think?

        • The squeaking was probably the compressor going bad.

          • now that I got a paycheck, I'm going to start looking for a place to get my front bumper repainted. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm located in Sterling Heights.

            • I gotta do the same thing but the guy at autozone told me about this place called paint plus. He said they have a paint code book and they match or have every color (automotive obviously) he also said they have the big spray cans, quality paint for 5$ not the measly shit at autozone for 7$. Im gonna go there once I get my bumper. Itd probably take 2 cans of that paint using it all up around 5 coats or so to make it match. Then you can get some nice clear coat from autozone and do 4 or 5 coats of that and some polish. You could paint your bumper for around 20$. Im gonna call diehl tomorrow and see if they have a trans am bumper for me, they come brand new and primed. I called Maaco when i had my GTP. He said itd cost 350 to paint just my hood with no prep and itd cost 350$ to paint my car with no prep (CHAIN STORES ARE JOKES). I also called a local place which said 400$ for just my hood. Try DIY man, you never know till you try. I painted a fender on a cherokee and the people who bought it didnt even notice. Cost me 20$ metallica purple matched perfect.

              either that or craigslist

thanks for the input, but I really don't feel comfortable doing it myself. I'd much rather have it professionally done. Not to mention the fact that I literally do not have a free weekend all summer to do this.

                • Send a PM to my dad, Plum Nuts, and look into Bill's Barn in Ray Twp. He's located at 29 Mile Rd and North Ave so it's a bit of a hike north for you but my dad had his whole car painted for $400.

if you go to autozone or something they have a special 2 way tape that you could trim to fit and apply.

Overall the paint job came out really good - we made a mistake with the hood though because we bought it from the manufacturer (they literally were popping the hood out of the mold when we showed up) and then IMMEDIATELY had it painted which we learned afterwards is a big "no no" and doesn't allow the gelcoat to cure fully so there's really small bubbles in the hood. The rest of the car though looks pretty good - a little orange peel here and there but for the price it simply couldn't be beat. My dad and I had originally figured even if it only lasted 2-4 years it'd still be worth it. There's a whole bunch of pictures here: http://s892.photobucket.com/albums/a...%20oct%2025th/ as well as in his album.

Definitely willing to help you - but this weekend isn't good for me. Angie's parents are coming over tomorrow and we're doing a crap ton of work around the house while also having AT&T U-Verse installed in the afternoon. Sunday my family is doing a Father's Day BBQ. What's your schedule like during the week? I'm available M-F after 5pm.
