Looks good so far. Progress is progress!

I went the lazy route and swapped hatches to get rid of my stripes. I got a killer deal so it made sense. Cant wait to see it.

White, with Red stripes I'm working on swapping out my hood... had a minor set back with that today

looks good darren... got a long way to go yet. make sure you do awesome work on the prep work. if not you'll be able to see all the flaws when its painted

If you do all the prep yourself then take it to be painted it will save on the cost since most of the labor hours are spent in prep.

Darren if you need a hand let me know as I have a little bit of experience in Body and Paint.

Oh, I ment strip the whole car to bare metal too. Has your car ever been repainted? or is that original paint? And Even though your sanding the rust spots to bare metal, there is still rust pores in it, and you want to get the rust out of there, you need to get some Acid, it will eat it out.

No acid and I dont see the need to strip this entire car for my purposes remember its not going to be perfect.

Well a big step of progress today and a small step back... Thats how it works right? BigJon came over today and we cranked out a TON of work while getting high and I think by the end of the night it showed. I'll let the pics do some talking for now tho, enjoy:

I finally met up with the guy about the hood I found on CL and yeah that was a complete waste of time! So I am back on the hunt for a hood, I am in desperate need of one if anyone knows of one I could pick up. I would love white so I dont have to prime it but if I have to no big deal.

I seen you had a block. I didn't see anything typed up that you had parts and were waiting for a hand to help with assembly.

I will try and get by during the week to get a closer look.

If you ever might consider wide tires in back, this would be the time to roll/trim the wheel wells

A couple rules to remeber
-You can't do body work with primer
-you can't fill a high spot
-Don't demo a car at onetime
-If it doesn't fit now, it won't fit after it is painted

What happened with the hood, Darren?

I hate how people on CL describe their parts as "mint" and "ready to bolt on" The hood I went to look at was exactly what I thought I needed. A white flat RS camaro hood with light surface rust (no big deal I will just sand) When I got there (which is another whole story with the blazer breaking down) the hood looked mint as I was walking up to it. I lifted the bra on the hood and was like WOAH looked like a shark took a bite out of each side all rusted and jagged not even straight or close to usable... So I need a hood and a hood is just about the ONLY thing holding me back right now. I have to finish some sanding and priming then fix two of my GFX and take the stripes off the hatch then she is ready...
