I will be cleaning mine some more this weekend (I will take them off and scrub the shit outta them) and hopefully bring them back to life a little more to make it look better. I also have some cleaning and touch up work to do on the whole car.

Lets do them Saturday after I get my Tuner tinted!

Meh, I waxed my car two weeks after it was painted and only waited that long because it was 2 weeks before I needed to wash the car. The 6 month wait period is for old paint. Today's paint you can wax immediately, just don't use hot wax or machine buffers. Hand wax is perfectly fine.

Edit: Hell, while we're talking about paint, today's paint doesn't even really need wax. I haven't waxed my car since the Berger Show when it was detailed... I just wash it down and then quick detail spray it as necessary. Every painter I've talked to absolutely hates how much people wax their cars these days.

I love the soft feeling your car has after you wax it plus it makes it easier to clean. I waxed the insides of my summer wheels so the brake dust washed off easily.

Hey Brian....new paint has a waiting period before you wax it too. Paint continues to cure at a slow rate if it's not baked. It needs to out-gas the solvents...wax seals that in and leads to "solvent pop". If you read the tech sheets on the paint it clearly states a waiting period for wax application.

James is right - you don't want to put anything on it until it lets all it's junk out, and cures.

People don't realize that paint will move as time goes by. It is harder to see on metal cars but on older fiberglass cars it is amazing how different it will look several months later.

yep.. even todays paint still needs 3 weeks to a month before wax can be applied.. ive talked to a few guys at Finishmaster in GR and they have said that b/c it needs time to cure. idk who those guys were that told you it doesnt but i sure wouldnt listen to them at all.

and Brian the only reason painters hate wax is because its such a pain sometimes to get it all off and then when they done the paint fish eyes and they have to redo the whole thing and start over..

The Dupont Chroma system that I used is 120 days before wax application.

You Can wax your car right after its painted, But its not a good Idea, I deffinatly like to wait atleast 3 months before I wax it. Paint (even the new stuff) takes a while to cure, and let out all the chemicals, and wax will hold them in, and will deffinatly cut down the life of your paint. Now as far as deepth and feal, After you paint a car, your going to first color sand it, and get out any dust/runs or inperfections, then your going to hit it with the wheel, and go threw your Heavy,medium, and fine cut cleaner, swirl remover, and then Glaze. With a good glaze, that will actuly protect your paint, and will feal very smooth, and will still let your paint cure properly. So ill wait 6 months before I wax my car. Thats just my opinion.

My dad has a PC7424XP and I used it on his car with the compound,polish,finish glaze,and topped it off with wax.

Took about idk..4-5 hours because I was doing a entire interior/exterior detail. And had to fix some corrections with the paint. But after I was done, looked like a !@#$ mirror driving down the street.

With my recent tax return. I bought my own, with tons of pads and products. Right now what Im going to use for Yoshi is some products from Pinnacle

And to lock all the hard work in, I'm going to hit it with some Collinite #845 and maybe some Nattys wax and call'er good.





When I did my dads we used the natural brilliance line from pinnacle

I promise you, you will not be disapointed. Wolfgang is also a good brand to go with.




But for you I would def. Use a sealant and not a wax.

What are you bumping this up for you know I havent done anything recently! Hopefully this time next week there will be something on my hook and trunk I am also on the hunt for some wheels for my car, not looking to spend a lot but hopefully can find something before I need to buy tires for the stock RS wheels I have... So keep your eyes out for me?
