Does it smell rich even on cold start? If so, I'd say coolant temp sensor before o2s. IMHO o2s seem to be the result, not so much the cause.- Brian Meissen

yeah O2s would be my guess as well. The emblems look great. Where did you get them?

Looks great. I'm glad to see the black centers, I think those look cool. They kind of remind me of what 93-97 iroc wheels would look like. I have been debating on what to do for front brakes so thanks for the info on the LS set up.sigpic

Spent the night working on my car yet again. This time I have installed the LS1 steering shaft to rid my car of excessive play in the steering. Found a guide on LTXtech that was pretty spot on. Took the end off re indexed it and tack welded it back on there real lightly so it cant come off.
Steering is much tighter and what I would call acceptable. There is still a little bit but I dont know that it can get tighter, I drive a car with electric steering every day so my sense of whats possible is blurred. For anyone that is still rocking the stock LT1 steering shaft, this may be something you should consider. I paid $29 for mine shipped on eBay. Took 3 hours to do including paint. One more thing off "the list"

I know this is going to be a mild pain, but can you post a picture of the steering knuckle installed on the steering wheel side? In the picture above it looks like it's at least an inch or so shorter, so I'm curious how it fits in the car. It might move it down far enough that I wouldn't have the bolt head grinding against the longtube primary.- Brian Meissen

I can get a pic tomorrow as the cars at my parents in the garage. I can say that my headers have more clearance with the LS1 shaft. The LT1 in the picture has been ground down already and its still larger than the stock ls1 version.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

Werd - that might seal the deal for me on doing this then. Ever since I hit that concrete in Detroit that dented my longtubes and oil pan my steering knuckle grinds against the long tubes to the point that if I am making a turn and the wheel starts turning to straighten out, the knuckle will lodge against the long tubes and hold the wheel in place until I forcefully move it past the bind.- Brian Meissen

If it flexes that much my human hand, you know its flexing more when actually in the car.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

I really dont think mine does that at all, i think yours might just be shot after 150k. Ill check mine, but i think i would have noticed that when i did my headers and cam swap. Id say in your case that was definitely your problem, and likely why they opted to remove it later on.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; August 15th, 2012, 07:36 AM.-Joel
