  • Nope. There's a double-ended fitting that goes into the slave and it's like 2" from the opening in the bellhousing, then the line goes into that. You might be able to, but you'd probably get brake fluid all over the clutch. Not too hard to remove the trans though, just a bit of work.

Thanks Vinnie! This is all in reference to another car (not mine) that we've been struggling with trying to bleed the clutch. I think we're gonna drill a hole in the tunnel

Didn't know about speed bleeders - trans is already reinstalled.

          • Kolin's? You don't need to drill a hole in the tunnel, just gravity bleed it then use a mityvac at the reservoir to get the rest of the air out. Keep working the pedal and such.

            • Realized there's brake fluid coming from the bellhousing. Think the slave cyl. is screwed. has to come back apart. Not happy at all right now.

                • I hate myself. Forgot to torque the speed bleed line going into the slave cyl.

At least I dropped the trans again in like an hour and a half. Should be back together done by tomorrow...maybe I'll just spend the night in the garage.

                  • Trans is back in the car. So basically I'm right where I was at last night. Hmm. At least I have plenty of pedal pressure now.

                              • I have a decent trans jack that I used, has pivot controls and all, just had to use two 2x4 pieces to make a v-wedge for the trans to sit in. Might drive it tonight or tomorrow for a test, don't know how the roads are but I see some snow falling so probably not. Either way I have to take it back to school Sunday. Hope the roads are dry then.

Pics tonight if I can make it to a decent internet connection. (Caribou coffee for some organic chemistry loving).
