Its an aluminum filled bondo. supposed to be stronger, (make me feel better, as i dont trust regular bondo) and you can drill and tap it.

Its hard as f**, takes some balls to sand it, Im using 40 grit on a palm sander, it still is alot of work.

    Thanks.

here's a pic. This is still a work in progress, it looks pretty good tho. I have a lot more deletion and cleaning up to do this winter. This is FACTORY and has not ever been repainted, I was one of the few very lucky cars that came stock like this.

EDIT: click picture for larger version, i cant get it to work right

I'm semi confused also, but the shock towers look clear coated.

Yea... they look shiny... but i thought he meant that he smoothed his out like I am...

EDIT: After re-reading his post, i guess he was just talking about that gloss black.

But, im not sure what ill be painting everything yet.

                  Gloss, semi, flat...

Im not talking about the ENTIRE car...

                      just the engine bay.

I may be just rattle canning it with flat black, just to get it done. (Then id re-do it in a year or so)

I just dont have much money right now... and i want my car on the road. now...

I would say your engine bay is one area you don't want to cut corners while the engines out, make it look nice. Just buy cheap paint if you have to, but i vote gloss ftw!

No I just posted the pic to show how good a cleared engine bay looks. that is stock from the factory (most are just flat). I didnt smooth anything out.

Looks good. I never heard of them offering that from the factory.
