Just won the auction for a set of valve covers, unfortunately the heads on there got too highly priced for my consideration so it looks like I'll be buying from Phil. Think he'll take $400 shipped? Got the valve covers for $62 shipped, and planning on polishing them.

Hes not going to take anymore than $375 because I will be the one who has to deal with shipping, I can get a quote of shipping for you if you need to know just PM me your address.

I might have them shipped local to my dad or have him pick them up then go home for a weekend to do springs and shims, I'll be talking to him tonight to get it set up though.

dang somehow my thread got jacked.......anyways i got my motor, trans. and rear diff out today. didnt get any real pics cause my digital camera battery is dead damn it. anyways it went pretty smooth. next week my rear diff is going in to be completely rebuilt and have some 3.73s installed. the trans will be getting tore down shortly also, but im currently talking to performabuilt and seeing if they will stand behind their junk ass tranny and help me out somehow. if not ill get it done myself or with dustins (alwaysmessedup) help. the motor will be getting LS6 heads with all the supporting mods and a new , bigger, badder camshaft. im also wondering if i should check the bearings while its out and possibly replace them and do a quick hone on the cylinders???? any input on that idea would greatly be appreciated. the car does currently have 126k on it and since ive owned it, the last 35k havent been easy, lol. the car ran perfect although and have never had any issues except the trans... anyways thats what i got done today.

yeah if your pulling the motor rods bolts are at the top of the list, especially if your gonna tear down for new bearings and all.

With everything your doing I would certainly do the bearings and hone the cylinders and new arp bolt on bearings and rods. not a time to skip steps.

Sorry about that, I kinda piggybacked on your thread instead of starting a new one seeing as how I'm doing almost the same thing.
That said, since I'm not pulling my motor can I swap out my rod bolts underneath the car or is the K-member completely in the way? (been a while since I've been under it)

I know some guys lift the motor enough to drop the oil pan and swap rod bolts but not sure how long there motors last afterwards, as mentioned in the other thread the ARP rod bolts have a tighter clamping force that stock ones and may tighten the tolerences too much. I know a lot of guys on tech do it but it may be worth looking into further. Katech rod bolts are the only ones that weight the exact same as well, ARP weigh different.
