oh, btw, the ebrake hasn't been pulled up in my year of owning it nor the previous owners.

Suggestions? I am going to get the car weighed either tonight or tomorrow. Any guesses on what its going to weigh in at? No weight reduction yet to my knowledge.

to take off your shifter handle? there is something that should look/feel like a staple on the front side of the handle. slip a flat blade screwdriver under that and take it straight out (will look like a staple) then the handle will slip right off

Ok, now I know what you are talking about. What about the ebrake? I am afraid to pull the lever all the way up because I haven't ever used it. Any way I can take it off wihout pulling it up??? Im open for options.

              Thanks!

Are you wanting to take the e-brake off entirely or you're trying to remove the center console? The e-brake system is pretty straight forward - especially for calipers - so I doubt it'd get frozen if you pulled the e-brake up.

If that's the case- you can crawl under the car and disconnect the main e-brake cable at a T where it then goes to the rear calipers. It's under the car next to the driveshaft.

just pull the ebrake handle as far as you can up and it should lift out with it like that, or disconnect it first as brian said and then pull it fully up or i dunno engauged? and the counsel should slide straight up, oh wait...you might have to spin it 90 degrees so basically the front of it is in the drivers area and the back is in the passenger seat area. I took it out a few times with the seats in so without seats should be even easier

Ok sounds good. I saw the staple when i was fiddeling with it the other day but i thought it was a staple to hold the knob together better

lol, im getting it weighted tonight. Ill let you know the weight. Im excited to see what it weights in at. Full fluids except 1/4 tank of gas.

I am going to tackel the surface rust this weekend. Has a little on the rear fender lips that go into the wheel well. there is some at the bottom of the rocker, a little under the hood and some on the back hatch jamb. Nonthing major, just a little 150 grit to knock it down to bare metal and lay some epoxy on and it should be good to go. More pictures this weekend.

Well, got the results on the weight.

3360 with a 1/4 tank of gas! (without driver)

                              Seems awfully light??
