• I'm attempting to get a dash, center counsel and a ttop headliner this weekend.

I'll be updating to the newer style dash (97-02)

Hopefully my good buddy Nick will come down to help me cut the top! white97z28.

I have been looking at seats as well. My driversside is pretty rough. I think there are better prices that 6LE.

• Dont forget about the hidden screws. What a pain in the ass. its a dirty, nasty, filthy, job, but so worth it when its done. Did you find a upper dash pad? I heard that 2002 and newer uses a different plastic and stays flexible longer. mine is still bendable, makes removal way easier.

• I haven't found a pad yet but there is an eBay company that sells them for $290. It's abs plastic so it should last a very long time.

Make sure its a pad and not a cover, you need whatever would be left of a pad to use a cover.

• If you plan on keeping a car a long time the ABS pad is the way to go. Thankfully mine is mint but if it ever got bad I would get the ABS one.

• I picked up the dash and center counsel from Dennis today.

There is still tons I need.

Headlight switch
Fog light switch (for the fogs I don't have)
Rear defrost (for the rear defrost I don't use)
Center counsel arm rest
Shift boot and ring (will my LT1 one fit?)
1997 specific cluster

I also need the complete wiring for the dash/cluster as well. Dennis said it should be at his buddys house and will check this weekend. Hopefully its there or I think that ill be on a wild goose chase.

As for the dash pad.... Not sure what way I want to go with this as I know ill be spending over $200 either way.
Ebay has these....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-2002-Ch...3D251616132958

Downside, its $300!!!!!!! Also, I have heard the fitment is great but the texture is pretty rough.
Upside, It should NEVER crack. Well, never say never but abs isn't crap plastic like the stockers.

Basically thats where I'm at.

EDIT: @zeeman , do you have any of the stuff I need left over from your parts car?

Tinted windshield is on the to do list. I had my Fusion done with 35% and I LOVE it. It only cost me $50 to!!!

• I have the fog light switch if you have a piece I can use to plug it. I'll have to look at the defroster button and see if that's something I can separate.

Yes! I didn't think some 500,000 mile parts would be so clean/good condition. (well besides the actual dirt/grime lol)

Edit:
Although its not that big of a deal, where could I find a 6 speed sticker to put over the T5 sticker on the upper console?
