LT1s don't have a ground on the back of the head. Regardless, I'm sure dad will see this thread before he gets to working on the car... The two main grounds to check would be the ground on the front motor mount bolt on the right [passenger] side of the engine and then the grounds on the coil and the strap that goes to the frame.

                • Fuel pump is dead. He's going to limp on the v6 fuel pump that I had (which was likewise going bad but wasn't dead yet) so he can get to the fall picnic while he waits for a Walbro 340 to arrive.

Has he pulled the pump out already and tested it? I'm having a very hard time believing it worked when you pulled the motor and all of a sudden its dead...

He's going to toss my v6 pump in there so that will tell us for sure 100%. He measured the power at the pump and it's got full 12v power - the ONLY thing that could be wrong if it has 12v power is that the pump is dead.

Relay is fine - he was able to measure and watch the fuel pump get 12v during when it should have been priming and then he saw it get constant 12v while it was cranking after it primed.

                            • Yeah - it seems like a dumb idea to put a pump that was going bad into a vehicle. Twice the work...

                              • I called my dad when I left work to head to school. He said he was already working on getting the bucket's seal dry with the v6 pump. He's doing double the work either way, whether he uses Dans or uses the v6 pump because him and Dan went in on a pair of Walbro 340 fuel pumps for sale on Cz28. He's just doing this to make it to the picnic on Saturday.

He also said over the phone that this is not the first time the pump was replaced. Whoever replaced the pump previously cut the trap door already for him but I guess they only cut 3 sides and bent it over while they worked. From what he said, they then bent the panel back into place and FIBERGLASSED over the panel. Needless to say, if they were that stupid with doing the trap door they more than likely used some cheap-o chinese made fuel pump.

The previous owners of this Formy sure rigged a lot of shit together.
