HI James,

No, I have not called them yet. Was pretty busy yesterday working on the car, and today I'm wiped out.

The really satisfying part of this Project is how well everything is working. Now that we have the alternator issue fixed, there seems to be no real issues with how the car functions. The temp stays good, the charging system works correctly now, it shifts well and drives VERY nice. It has a very solid and stable feel when driving. I'm sure that will only get better once the front end has it's alignment. The brakes work well, and we still have not made the final setting of the rear brake bias (proportioning valve). The stereo sounds ok and of course the car is stunning, visually.

The car feels like it's going to be a great road car able to function well during Club activities and long road trips. The 6 speed transmission was definately the right choice.

After the Berger show, we still have to get the AC unit installed and deal with the parking brake cables. We're still in the shake down mode, analizing everything and watching for any problems. There is one pretty annoying squeek in the suspension we have to track down, but the problems we've encountered so far have turned out to be realitively minor and fairly easily fixed.

The process continues ..............

Congratulations Doug, the Z really looks very good, I really like the blue and the stance, and I believe it's a blast to drive after all these years! Funny thing though the last time I saw you driving a Camaro on film was in June 1994 in the Douglas Walker Park, and that Camaro didn't have any AC either...

In the video, it only about 2-45 air conditioning! ........ and it was not 98 degrees and humid like that special day back in June '94. 8-O

Well, even though Project DZ74 is not completely finished, it is to the point where we can drive it. So, we've been taking her out on short trips, evaluating it's performance and doing any trouble shooting that comes up. On Thursday, Ray and I took her out on her longest trip yet, probably 130-140 miles. She performed pretty well. She was a little hesitant to start on a couple of occasions when she was hot, but never let us down by not starting. With the alignment done she drives down the highway great.

try clicking his photo it comes up a bit larger then right click and copy - open up your ms paint right click and paste save it as a jpeg then your shold be able to export it to your DT
