Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
It is amazing!!!
Doug I know that you feel blessed, but it's a bunch of your "family" repaying you for all that you have done over the years. With out the club I wouldn't have found alot of great friends.
So congrats and THANK YOU
The first Gen started it all!!! 67 CAMARO RS AND A SEXY WIFE
Thanks for the kind words. We do have a pretty great family in WMCC. Many life long friendships have been forged within the Club and that's what makes it so special.
Todd,
Thanks for the compliments. It is pretty amazing to see the old girl emerge from the corner of my garage after all those years.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

This spring, while working on the Project, I took the alternator apart to polish the case. While I thought I was pretty careful putting it back together, it seems I had two screws switched in their positions. One had an insulated washer under it and being in the wrong hole, didn't do what it was supposed to do. The shop where I took the alternator is a specialty rebuild and repair shop for alternators and starters, etc. They tested it when I arrived and there was no output, what so ever. They discovered the misplaced screws during tear down. So, they simply switched them to their proper locations (after making sure there were no burned out components) and tested the alternator again.
It was like magic! The alternator checked out to be 100% fine after that. They only charged me $10 for the labor. It sure could have been a lot worse than that!

Although there are no pics really nessasary. DZ74 hit a major milestone tonight. We finished every single thing on our checklist in order to have the car ready for Berger

The really satisfying part of this Project is how well everything is working. Now that we have the alternator issue fixed, there seems to be no real issues with how the car functions. The temp stays good, the charging system works correctly now, it shifts well and drives VERY nice. It has a very solid and stable feel when driving. I'm sure that will only get better once the front end has it's alignment. The brakes work well, and we still have not made the final setting of the rear brake bias (proportioning valve). The stereo sounds ok and of course the car is stunning, visually.
The car feels like it's going to be a great road car able to function well during Club activities and long road trips. The 6 speed transmission was definately the right choice.
After the Berger show, we still have to get the AC unit installed and deal with the parking brake cables. We're still in the shake down mode, analizing everything and watching for any problems. There is one pretty annoying squeek in the suspension we have to track down, but the problems we've encountered so far have turned out to be realitively minor and fairly easily fixed.
The process continues ..............

That's probably not gonna happen.
I'm not gonna drive it real far before Monday, when it goes to Berger's body shop to be rubbed out again. Then there's two weeks before the Frankenmuth Autofest. With a few more miles on her locally, I just might take it to that show. I finally have a car old enough to enter that great show!
