Do you even remember the last time you drove it Doug? Looks good going down the road. Did you get the front spoiler restriped? Are you going to have the hood done like it was before or not? How's the shifter setup working?

We ran into an issue today. Ray, James and I took the car for an extended drive after we made some adjustments based upon our drive yesterday. We probably went about 25 miles, each taking turns behind the wheel. The car started to run a little "funny" and as we got closer to home it got a little worse. Were about 3 or 4 blocks from home when she died! Right at a traffic light on a fairly busy street corner!

Well, James and Ray pushed the car around the corner (I was steering) and another driver jumped out to help, too. We got into a parking lot and rested. I walked home to get something to tow the car with and while I was gone, Ray diagnosed the problem as a possible dead battery. When I got back, we put some jumper cables on the battery, ran the Trail Blazer a few minures to charge the Project's battery, and she started right back up. We quickly drove the car home and back into the garage. Looks like the alternator is not charging, and we were running off the battery. It should be an easy fix. Considering that, the Optima battery held up quite well.

But before that issue cropped up, the car ran and drove very nice. I'm amazed how well it drives considering it has not had a front end alignment yet. The six speed is great! That was definately the right call there!

We are all impressed with the lack of harshness to the ride, especially considering the solid subframe bushings, subframe connectors and the Global West delalum control arm bushings. The ride is firm, but not uncomfortable, at all. I think she's going to be a great road car.

I'm very happy with how the car is coming out. There are still some details to attend to, but it's coming along nicely.

I will be forever indebted to my many friends that helped see this project to the end.

Gotta love those Optima's! I had the alternator die in my Sonoma when I was downtown near the Van Andel. I managed to make it all the way home on JUST the battery and that's about 30 miles!!!

I really don't remember the last drive in the car back in 1986. 8-O It may have been to the November Camaro Club meeting as I do remember starting the tear down in the late fall of 1986. (We had the IROC which was new in May of 1985) ............ Heck, it may even have been the Fall/Winter of '85/'86 !!!!!!!!!!! Getting old is a real trip !!!!

We got the front spoiler striped last week. It was done by Dave Shuten, one of the pin stripers from Autorama (and a builder of custom show rods). I have no plans at this stage to put the graphic back on the hood scoop. I kind of like the clean look it has now.

The shifter set-up works just fine.

I wonder what the the horsepower rating Ray and I were putting out yesterday while pushing.....all I know is my legs are REALLY sore right now Thanks goodness for that stranger that helped out or Ray and I would have passed out right in the middle of the street.

It was fun none-the-less getting to cruise around in it yesterday and I felt quite honered when Doug told me to get behind the wheel.
