Yes it was nice. Most people comment on the car itself but this was the first time anyone commented on the sound. I opened the cutouts once when I was out on Division and it just vibrates the entire seat. I love it.

I was in our Trail Blazer and heard something healthy coming up from behind, but then you turned off just as you reached my rear bumper. I only got a quick look in my side mirror and it sure looked like Mary Sue's car???????
Yup that was me Doug. I guess I won't be able to sneak up on people anymore.

I am paitiently awaiting that story cause I know it will be coming soon!

LOL, Mary Sue, sneaking up on people is a thing of the past for you now!

I ALWAYS have my stereo playing in the car and I only had the sun roof cracked (side windows closed), but still managed to hear (and feel) your car coming up from behind.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

      • Attempted to take the car out this afternoon and as soon as I hit the pavement and gave it some gas, it backfired, popped, and jerked so I had to turn around and go home. This sucks. Kyle thinks it might be because the car doesn't like to go so slow down my dirt road. Had it out a few days ago and didn't have a problem. So does anyone have any brilliant ideas other than get my road paved? I can't keep buying spark plugs and at this rate, I won't go to the M&G with the car constantly acting up like this.

Not a question of IF its a question of when!

Go really really fast down the dirt road almost like your flying so the rocks wont hurt the paint! Wrap the car in plastice wrap while doing this! lol Other then that Red I have no idea But I really want you to come to the M&G if that means anything...

          • The tune could be off at low speeds.....like idail to 3000rpm?? Dont now i cant hear the car. and i cant see how your driving it down the road...

-What gears are in the rear end? stock?

            Comment

            • Gears are 3.42. I don't understand why I shouldn't be able to drive my car slow like between 12-15 mph for a brief period of time. Something has got to be off somewhere. I really need to be able to drive the car slow to get out to the pavement. And how would one ever do something like the Metro Cruise. That is something that just isn't done fast. Someone else told me to adjust the fuel regulator but Kyle says that isn't the prob and I trust Kyle but I really need to figure out what is doing this.

This car will stall under around 15 mph.

                • Well if you put a set of 3.73 or 4.11 that would help your RPM at lower speeds, And you should really have at least 3.73 in it anyway...
P.S listen to your engine builder about the fuel and such!! He is the one that built it he nows whats going on..

                  • when your idling down the road just push the clutch in and rev it every now and then and clean it out... i have to do that to mine every now and then but thats cuz its carbed and i know its a little fat down low..

or at least just see if that helps

                    • Sounds like your tune is off when the car is at low load, low engine speed...car probably runs fat down low....cools off the oxygen sensor with extra fuel and it falls out of closed loop...only making it worse....that's why you fouled out plugs.

I would love 3.73 but what will that cost me? Can't I just get the gears? I'm getting to the flat broke range. And yes, I do listen to Kyle. I know he knows what he's doing and I've never doubted that.

Thanks Sean. I'll try that next time. Seems like every 100 or so miles I go, they get all funked up.

                          • Hmm, I have a brand new set of both 4.10 gears and 3.73 gears that I would probably part with if u wanted Red I would even deliver them. And they are original GM gears that you get from the dealership, which are known for being the strongest and one of the few that don't whine. PM me if you are interested.

I'm also going to call TJ and see if we can come out so he can put the sniffer in and fix the low RPM idle.

I am interested, I just don't have the funds right now. It would be a month or two. And it would be the 3.73's. I don't want 4.10's.
