    • Something free for you to do that will help the looks of the engine compartment - Do the wire mod. I did it and it was easy. Made a huge difference in how mine looked:
      Before -

      After -

      • Thanks guys! I think the black goes soooo much better with the car.

That does look really nice and clean! I would have to do something to fill in the holes though.

I think I am in the minority here, like on LS1tech, but I like to see the wires.

        • You can do the TB coolant bypass a lot cheaper and smoother than the BMR fabrication kit just by getting an entirely new coolant line. I did mine with a heater junction and a piece of fuel line for like $3, as compared to the kit's price of like $12+

I plan on using a new hose for that. Just waiting until I drain the coolant for the thermostat swap. I have heard of people using the coupler, and the weight of it pulls the hose down on to the accessory belt.

            • I did the coolant bypass with a piece of brakeline and rubber ends. Looks nice and doesn't come anywhere near the acc belt. I'll get a pic of my engine compartment tomorrow - It has a few new things since that last pic

Just choose your new line carefully. I tried re-doing the whole thing with one line but found out that the nipple on the radiator's like 3/8" and the line on the block is 1/4". Could be that I was using fuel line though. But yeah, a longer line definitely helps to avoid the pulley on the water pump. I've got mine zip-tied to the upper radiator hose.

It is on the corner of MLK Ave & Third (I mean University).

Thanks a lot! I am very happy with the results. The red calipers distracted from the overall theme, I think the black looks very subtle but still different.

                            • No doubt, I always hate it when people paint their calipers red, and have nothing else red on the car. It doesn't flow well to me at all.

                              • I am looking in to buying my 160* thermostat, but I see two different types. One that is just the thermostat, and one that has the thermostat as part of the neck.

                                Thermostat

                                Neck

I replaced my water pump two winters ago, but don't remember if I had to remove the thermostat from the neck.

                                Anyone have an idea?
