QC coating screwed up a few parts of my dads when they were sandblasting them but that can easily be blamed on a inexperience worker. I have not delt with them personally but I hear good things about them.

I don't see how ceramic coatings will protect the inside of the tubes as coating is sprayed on. Myself I would have to debate what the cost of another header in 4 years vs R&R the current one plus $ and to be without the car for a few days.

A quote about storing cermanic coated parts...
"Then coat the headers with WD-40 or an equivalent where the tubes are welded to the header flanges and where the tubes come in close proximity to each other (Especially where the four tubes enter into the collector). These areas are prone to rusting as the coating is unable to get between the tubes in the unexposed areas of the header. If rust occurs, it will travel into and under the coating and create a stain."

edit my bad, I thought you already had a headerinstalled.

I had the pipe for my CR250 coated at QC and it turned out great. Price was very reasonable too.

Cool, one of the guys I work with had his bike (as in bicycle :lol) frame done there, and it looked great.

Ryan mentioned Dynasty Powder Coatings (formerly C&S, I think). So I'll contact both.

So Fred and I were discussing this last night, and if I'm going to paint then, I will be sandblasting them, and then POR-20ing the outside.

However, these headers being mild steel, are susceptible to rotting from the inside...now...does anyone know of a place that will ceramic-coat this beast? I saw online it's around $100 - and for the peace of mind that they'll not rust anymore - as well as the damn good looks, I think it would be worth it.

I bought some silver VHT header paint (2000* resistant) for my y-pipe when I thought it was steel... then figured out it was just a 400 series stainless, so I polished it instead.

Yep POR20 is what I used, its holding up alright but I didn't bake it on as recommended. I'd give it a shot though for the price, its definitely better than that black high heat grill paint.

Got my ZZP header and 2.5" catted downpipe today.

What is a good header paint? I'm thinking of blasting the header and painting it with something decent and/or wrapping it (or maybe just wrapping it and not worrying about the surface rust).

    Thanks everyone!

Yep, I love these Recaros every time I drive the car, were very helpful when autocrossing, that's for sure!

And yeah, Brian, she did a really nice job, and not for a whole lot of money either!
