Very common on a cam install untuned. The cam moves the powerband up making the engine pig rich at low RPM.

Picked up the new Corsa exhaust. Got an ory as well as a catted Y. I?m getting a garage door opener installed Monday then I?ll be sending the pcm to Frost to be tuned. Once it?s tuned I?ll throw insurance on it and take it to my friends with a hoist to do the stall and the Corsa.
Had a blast in Florida the week after we closed on both houses.

So I contacted Frost about sending the pcm out to be tuned and it turns out I?ll need to install the stall before it?s tuned.
So, I?ll be trailering it to a co workers so I can drop the trans on his hoist. I?ll also be installing the Corsa exhaust too.

Still don?t understand. Obviously the converter is going into the car. I think they are just saying they can?t properly tune a bigger cam if you aren?t putting a converter in.When in doubt, Whip it out !

So...is this cam so wild that it's going to require a high idle speed, and thus is not compatible with the stock converter? That's the only way I can see the converter coming into play.DynoDave

Since I haven?t updated the post in quite some time.
Ended up trailering the car to a friends house (with a hoist).
Sent out the pcm to be tuned.
Got the trans dropped and back in in a night.
Well I ran into some issues because I didn?t realize you have to measure and shim the spacing between the converter pad and flexplate. I was fortunate enough to not damage the trans pump, I reseated the converter, measured, added 2 shims and new bolts, torqued to spec.
Got the new (to me) Corsa installed, it sounds amazing! I definitely might have to use the catted y pipe now being part of the subdivision life. We will see lol.
I?ll finally be taking it home today. This 4000 converter will take some getting use to. During my test drive I wasn?t sure if the trans was slipping or if that is the way it is suppose to be ha. Still not completely sure .
I?ll be ordering a trans cooler ASAP. I?ll also be adding the temp gauge tonight before I take it home.

I originally put a 2800 generic converter in my Z28 then after I broke the trans I put a SS3600 in at the trans repair. I never really noticed the 2800, the SS3600 I noticed for about a week, then I didn?t even notice it till I hit the loud pedal. Enjoy it. Your car is going to be a blast to drive. Enjoy.When in doubt, Whip it out !
