The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. I don't love being outside in the heat, no. But mostly it's finding the time. And the space. The back garage is just about full, with the only remaining large space being around the Trans Am. And everything that is left to do is a large part. So I just don't know where I'm going to put stuff. I think the yard equipment is going to get the boot (some of it already has). If that's not enough, I may have to put some things in the rental storage unit with the Chrysler, which I have been trying very hard NOT to do. And I will NOT put large sheet metal panels around the Trans Am, where they could fall over and damage the car.
The last few items were hurriedly moved out, and the demolition work began on Tuesday.
A few errors occurred here. They were not supposed to demo the drywall on the walls. By the time I saw it, it was too late. They also were not supposed to remove the 16' of workbenches, nor the 6-7' of desktop area. So those will have to be reconstructed somehow. The upside is the exterior walls (not shared with the house) were not insulated. I'm going to pay them to do that while they are in there. Also getting a little electrical work done, and having the exterior entry door replaced.
I now have a new pile of things to go through again...the old cabinets, a few missed contents, and some other odds and ends.
More curious smoke patterns, this time from a sheet of peg board sitting 1.5" off the wall. These were 4x8 sheets laid on their side, so 4' up from the workbench surface. Curious how the smoke pushed it's way through the first 5-10 rows of holes, then swept downward.
Well...a bit too much demo...but having those walls insulated is going to be huge.
The smoke pattern behind the pegboard is absolutely nuts. It's really insane to think just how the physics of it all works, in that the movement of smoke is very hard to predict.

Employee car show today. Great weather, and great turnout.
Sadly, I took my "good" camera, and it really is pretty nice. But I find it frustrating to try and operate. And it turns out I don't have even 1/4 of the photos that I "thought" I was taking. Pisses me off...
Anyway, here are the photos I did manage to capture.
My wife mentioned to me that was going on - absolutely the perfect day for it, that's for sure!
Oddly enough, I never went to one when I worked there, somehow.
And that's a bummer the camera didn't take everything you thought it took. The pics it did take turned out really nice, though! I presume it's not a cellphone and thus has a bit more "operation" involved?

A Nikon CoolPix somethingorother. Lots of buttons, lots of menus, none of which you can see it broad daylight, or if your older, without readers. It's a damn pita, but it does take a good picture. When it takes a picture.
I've been using my S20 work phone now for taking all the pictures of food, since it takes better pictures than anything in our house - truly a stunningly good camera.

We now have insulation, drywall, and mud and tape done. Painting is next for the garage.
Made it out to Woodward for a couple of hours tonight. Always a good time during the week before the Dream Cruise. Most of these are taken in motion, so forgive the quality.
There was a big Corvette gathering/cruise leaving Joe Muer right as I was driving down yesterday (around 7:15). Cops/Fire Department had the right two lanes blocked off (similar to what they did when GM had the Volt/Bolt Silent Cruise there a few years back), so that was a bit of a sudden surprise, but not that big of a deal since traffic isn't too heavy there at Long Lake.
I eventually got well ahead of the line and then we saw them for about the next 30 minutes once I got to CVS (and they finally made their way there).
