The brakes BLLLLLOOOOOWWWW, can still push the pedal to the floor. On paved roads its not enough to set the abs off, probably driveable, but not my opinion of safe by any means. Went on some dirt roads and did about 20 panic stops cycling the ABS, hoping there was a bunch of air trapped in there, just got it back in the barn going to rebleed.....

Re-bled and no better. We are about out of ideas.

Filled the master and opened all the bleeder screws, going for the gravity approach.

Factory OEM lines? Like the rubber ones? Losing any fluid?

I deleted my ABS while in the process of installing my new engine. My brakes feel better now with a pretty big cam then they did with the stock engine and abs. I hated the way my old car braked, and that was with the same cam I have now and ABS.

Factory original lines, never touched them before. Not loosing fluid, just not building pressure. Gravity bled with no real improvement.

Both front calipers were new last year (one this year when it blew the seal), but the backs were quite dated. Couldnt ever remember replacing them. Since everything but the ABS block had been replaced I bought new rear calipers.

During bleeding they felt the same, and with the engine running the pedal was easily pushed to the floor. Decided to take it for a test drive anyway just to see what the deal was and boy were we in for a surprise. Got out onto M15 and up to speed, co-pilot and I at the ready I jabbed the pedal. We stopped so fast it felt like I was just in an accident or something! After peeling our faces off of the windshield I looked down and realized we stopped so quick it killed the car, lol.

So we can check brakes off the list, haha!

Got some good miles on her today, all appears well!

Worked on re-arranging the barn and tidying up, not a bad day!

                    • Yea, I know its foolish to look this far ahead, but weather for next fri-sat is looking good, so I should be out and about!

Im thinking injectors are going to be needed before the bottle gets hooked up, hoping to get off without doing a fuel pump, but im not holding my breath.

                        You still on stock injectors?

IMO it would be a very good time to upgrade the stock pump. It might be able to handle it for now but all it takes is for it to get hot once and drop pressure

                        • I'm on 28 lb ones right now. I fear 36's are in the future.

I think the stock pump will get me by NA, but I've basically come to peace with needing to swap it before the bottle gets hooked up.

                            • Yea, I cant wait! Neither can my dad, I think hes just as if not more excited to have a lift in the family again! We used to have access to a 4 post, but this 2 post I bought ought to make life much easier!

Picked up the work bench from my dads buddy, its 10ft long, made of steel I beams with a 1/4in plate top! Flat as glass and weighs about a million pounds. Took everything the little kubota had just to push it around in the barn

I spent a couple hours out their yesterday putting tools away and organizing stuff, its so nice to have a good area to work in. Makes it easier and less frustrating thats for sure!

Went cruising yesterday and got some miles on her to make sure its all ironed out, then took it to dinner. Looks like it has a small trans fluid leak from the bellhousing area. I moved it this morning and seen a few drops on the garage floor, and the bellhousing is damp. Fluid isnt low, is bright red and smells new, so Im not to worried about it. Once all the other crap is done (suspension parts and diff cover) I will probably just take it to the trans shop my dad uses for his work stuff and have them replace the front seal on the trans. Theres really not much else it can be that I can think of that it would be. Id pull it and do it myself, but it will be at least another month before I get the lift setup.

Either front pump seal or torque converter seal. Either one isn't a big deal to replace.
