Since it was to cold to work on the car, and my damn heater wouldnt start, I grabbed a few pieces and some paint and went back inside. The end result you ask? Looks better than new IMO. At least I accomplished something tonight. Looking to wrap it up and having it running by the end of the day tomorrow, Ill have an extra set of hands to help all day.

I wouldn't mind giving you a hand Spencer just depends on what you have or don't have access to. Some of the housings have axle tube diameters that are similar to the 10 bolt mine was a good deal bigger so I made a sleeve that fit into both tubes and also held them straight. The biggest obstacle is the torque arm mount, mine isn't the best looking but so far its held up.

Progress is progress, Ill take whatever I can get.

New cam is in, balancer is on, waterpump installed, belts on, pushrods in, rockers torqued, valve covers on, and a few other small items.

Tomorrow will consist of putting the radiator in, installing the new front caliper and master cylinder then bleeding the brakes. If it all gets done at a reasonable hour, change the oil and head to woodward!

Yup, already talked to Phil, I heard he was way backed up so I actually told him the car is already done, LOL. He said he was booked for the immediate future, and to get with him in another week, that was last weekend. Glad I told him a head of time, at least he is thinking about it now. I'm hoping he will be able to take a look at it and do the NA tune sometime this next week. But we'll see, if he is still busy maybe I will have the spray wired up by then and he can knock it all out at once.

Going to run a few errands and take back all the tools I rented, and see if I can get a friend to paint the "HSW" logo that's on the top of my plate, then its back out to the barn to get this beast running!

Well its running. Started right up on the old TR224 tune, but man oh man have I got the sewing machine noise going on!

I never had that problem with the old TR224. I used 7.425 pushrods with this cam, as opposed to 7.4's with the TR224.

The EPS cam (230/234 .600/.605 112+4) should have a smaller base circle than the TR224 right? Therefore requiring the 7.425's?

I stand corrected.... Im guessing the lifters just needed to pump up. Ive never had that happen in any of the other LS motors ive done, but come to think about it, I never had any of those engines apart as long as I have this one. Quieted right down and is no noisier than the old setup.

Good to hear...I was going to say that the new cam should def require longer pushrods. How does it sound?

Sounds actually about the same, the idle is a little more...upbeat? The TR224 had a kinda chuga-chuga...chuga-chuga noise where the new cam has more of a chopity chop chop noise, haha.

Kinda hard to explain, but very similar, it seems to hold 750 at idle no problem, but the sound pattern changes a lot, sounds like its got a different cam in it every 15 or 20 seconds, lol.

Seems to run pretty well for the old tune, if I rev it it crashes pretty quick like it wants to stall, but always catches itself. Has not stalled once yet. But thats how the old cam was, something funny in the tune IMO.

Seems to rev a LOT quicker with the Katech TB and the Fast Toys lid, thats a definitely noticeable change.

Got the new master on as well as the replacement front caliper, my buddy is inside watching the wings game, and when thats over were gonna bleed the brakes and im driving her tomorrow!
