Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
While I do agree have you ever seen a Pacesetter Y-pipe for an LS1 car? They look like that right out of the box.
Nope, but my LS1 BBK headers bolted right in but rattled a bit on the passenger side floor, with poly engine mounts. Quick tweak and all is good. Probably the best bang for your buck ls1 header.
I hope LPP steps up for you guys that are wanting some lt1 headers. They made a batch not to long ago and I know the guy that received a test one didn't have issues with the test fitments so hopefully they can get the ball rolling there... They are really really nice 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 stepped stainless and a priced great. fleabay ones looked like they came off my grandmas buick lasabre

I'd like to see some real data on stepped headers... so far i haven't seen any proof it does anything, so until then I'd rather have my plug access.

Here's a decent read with a Header company that makes really nice headers, to deep for most of our pockets though... For a mild set up an off the shelf header for any platform will work fine stepped or non stepped, stepped is better though, to as how much I don't think it's worth arguing on a mild h/c car.. What heaaders did you have before that you had plug access problems with? A 6 pack and I can have my plugs in and out of my car in 10 minutes with the lpp's. http://www.lemonsheaders.com/interview.htm

10 minutes?? Thats about what it take me to do it with the engine out of the car assuming im checking gap and using anti-seize. I thought i was doing good changing plugs in an hour. Where do you access from, top or bottom? I change 7 out of 8 of mine from the bottom without much difficulty. I remember LPPs taking up more real estate next to the engine.

I think he does them in about 8 minutes 1 beer per plug. Kyle is a true LT1 god! He has a very fast LT1 if there is such a thing....
did you take your meds this morning fast is a relative term.. I did smoke the shit out of my sisters cavalier by a car length. and Joel I do all of them from up top.. only one that was a pain was #5, got it down to a science now! Lpp said they are in production as of today! Hopefully they are not ridiculously priced. they have been pretty good on price, can't afford big dollar headers like ole fashooter

I don't know if you're asking for pictures of mine or the ones they're building.. page 19 is where there newest set is supposedly being made in production. also from what I understand is they are just the same ones but did a change or to for better fitment... Mine fit great but I have junk MWC front suspension up front. even with my stock front suspension and LS1 steering shaft, these fit great. That was with Poly motor mounts. http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread...s-and-Y/page19

Thats the thing, there are SO many different "versions" of that header I would be afraid to try another one until several people are happy with the current production.. Each and every one one ive installed all fit different (Ive installed 3 sets to date), but they all had serious clearance issues, none were even relatively close to clearing the steering shaft. Yours is the first ive heard of clearing the steering shaft. Scott's was so bad we had a primary pancaked half or less of its original diameter. That is unacceptable to me, I'd much rather fix issues with my exhaust/y-pipe.

All I know is there 2nd production run was the best. those had zero issues, I wouldn't buy a set of anyones headers until a few guinea pigs went first lol... Problem is there is a lot of variations in one set up up to another and with the cars being 20 years old now there will always be someone that has a fitment issue. I think It was the first batch they made were shitty fitting... The guy that just put those on had them hit his k member which isn't a big deal, a lot of people have to trim the factory one, the rag joint issue... hell throw a ls1 shaft on it anyways! I know you like my mummy headers
